BAREPRO 16-HR Skin-Perfecting Powder Foundation : Not that girl

I used to use the original Bare Minerals loose powder years ago and loved it, but eventually moved away from it. So when I saw this was going to be coming up during the Beauty Sale, I thought I'd dip my toe back in the Bare Minerals water. I wear powder foundation and have always been confused when people say they stay clear of powder foundations because they don't want want to look cakey. Powder typically performs beautifully on my skin and I actually feel like liquid foundation makes me look cakey. But lord, I completely understood peoples concerns with this Bare Pro! I looked so cakey and it seemed to have settled in every pore and every line. Plus, it oxidized so orange on me. I looked crazy. I actually was in shock when I opened my eyes after using my cleansing oil and saw how much lighter my face looked versus what I had been seeing in the mirror all day. And this wasn't a case of just wearing the wrong shade. It matched my skin just fine at the beginning of the day, but oxidized horribly throughout the day which I didn't even know powders could do. To be fair, I did try two more shades for good measure before throwing in the towel on this.
