This product isn't meant to make harsh curls or big waves. It's meant to give a slight wave to the hair. Think mermaid or a day at the beach. Using it gives me the same effect as when I take out a braid. Don't expect more than that. Yes, there is a hot smell to the hair after. The same as when you use a flat iron. I never write reviews but I always look at them so I should really try to start writing them. I really like this product. I enjoy more of a wave than a curl and I'm not blesses with talent or patience for styling my hair everyday. This is a great product to put in wet hair then braid and leave in over night.

This heat protector is the best thing to ever happen to my hair. Not only is it a heat protector but also acts as hairspray to keep your curls intact throughout the day. I've always had an issue with curls falling, but not anymore! This is also the best smelling hair product I've ever used which is a plus for sure! I also love that it's free from a lot of harmful chemicals!
