Quality isn't great…what happened?

I bought this Beachwaver Pro 1.25 in December 2023 to replace a Beachwaver Pro I had had for over 10 years (no lie) that had unfortunately finally shorted out on me on a trip to Germany. I was lucky enough to have Sarah Potempa actually curl my hair with the tool way back then at a work conference and I fell in love with how easy it was to use! So anyway fast-forward to now…I received the curling iron and immediately noticed the quality was NOT the same as my previous Pro model but hey things change over the years. The buttons feel cheap, kinda jiggle around in the unit if you move it around/shake it. I've had my new Pro 1.25 for 4 months and the + and - temperature symbols have already worn completely off, and the L and R symbols have faded. I use the curling iron occasionally so for the price tag, this is pretty disappointing. My previous Pro still looked brand new, so like I said the quality has definitely gone down. With that being said, the actual curling iron works great and I love how easy it is to use. I just wish it was better quality for how expensive it is.

Crap product/crap company

Make sure you're keeping this product when you buy. It didn't work how I expected and they're refusing to give me a refund. I do not recommend

LUV IT

Just kidding, it absolutely sucks. Does not hold a curl worth anything. Don't waste your money on this.

My curl don't last

I was so excited to get this curling iron. I have super long straight hair. So I love everything about the curling iron. The biggest issue is that about 10 mins after curling my curls literally fall straight. I've tried doing it in a different temperatures. I've tried doing it when my hair isn't washed for a day or two. I've tried different hair products and also no products but no matter what they just don't hold. I have cheaper curling irons and they curl my hair for longer. I'm just not understanding why it's not keeping a wave or curl at all. Just sad and disappointing.

The Holy Grail if you have long thick hair!

I normally use a 1.25-long barrel but my hair falls out shortly after use (Hot Tools) so I purchased the 1" first and it was so effective that my hair was too curly. The 1.25 is PERFECT! It is a no-brainer to use and being 60 and blonde I can say that with confidence, joke everyone. It use to take me 15-20 minutes to curl my hair. With this iron, I am done in about 8 min. It is a solid-built iron and has a nice weight to it. While it seems to be hotter than the Hot Tools iron set at the same temperature, maybe that is why it curls better and the curls last for days.

Best Beach Waves for My Long Thick Hair!!

Excellent product! I actually have beachwaves now that are gorgeous and last! I can brush them out over and over and the waves stay beautiful! And i have quite long, wavy, thick hair.

This is the 3rd curling iron i have tried and the last one i will need. I ordered the 1.25in. extended barrel. It is virtually effortless....Just a little getting used to the curling iron buttons and BAM! Beachwaves! The process goes fast. Does not take long at all. Before, i had to curl, recurl, and probably curl again. Not with this beauty!

I feel confident, pretty, and i look like i had a professional style my hair!!

The money is totally worth it. This is all you need 😁

Just like the salon beachwaves

I can never do beachwaves like my stylist. I have tried with so many curling irons. This does it for yoh and looks sooo good for beachy waves.

Broke within a year

I bought this product in stores about a year ago and it's now broken. I am not sure what happened as one day while I was in the middle of curling my hair it suddenly turned off. It turns back on but only stays on long enough to curl one piece at a time. I loved the product before it broke and wish they had a lifetime warranty, because I would get another.

Best curling tool I have tried!

I love this!!! I have owned it for about two years, and only use this tool for curling my hair. The clip did leave a small crimp in the bottom of my curl when first learning how to use it, but I have figured out how not to get a crimp by just playing with it. Heats up extremely fast, and I love that you can change the heat setting. I have a lot of long hair, but fine strands.

Clamp too small

The tool works well but the hair clamp is so small that it would take me an hour just to fix my hair. It is smaller than any tool I have!

I absolutely love my...

I absolutely love my beachwaver. My hair looks like it was professionally styled and It takes me 10 -15 mins to do it at home. I get so many compliments; people always ask "did you just get your hair done! It looks beautiful." I tell everyone that the Beachwaver is the best styling iron I ever had and well worth its price. I highly recommend toleveryone they should invest in one. Say goodbye to professional blowouts! I stand behind your product.

AMAZING!

This is my second Beachwaver, my first one lasted over four years. I have really long, thick hair and it curls my hair better than any other tool I've used.

Easy to Use, Great results

Easy to Use, Great results!!! Seriously, press a button and it works!!! I adore this iron. It was really easy to learn to use it and I am loving it. So glad I tried it and very happy to get it at such a deal. Thanks Beachwaver for caring about the earth and for giving us this sweet sale!

Love it

My curls have never been prettier! The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is because it doesn't have a home button which can get annoying other then that this product is amazing

Great Concept, Needs Tweaking

Perhaps this is because I purchased this as Certified Open Box but there was no instruction manual provided. I watched the video (above) and the master class on VS Waves by Sarah Potempa and found the manual online (although there was no User Guide online like some of the other models). None of them talked about the memory technology and what it does. I ended up finding an explanation in an independent reviewer on another site although it didn't say much other than that it is archaic compared to the one used in the S1 series which seems odd that the upgraded Pro would use a more archaic technology.

I'm not sure if my issue is because I am petite (and have small hands) but having the left and right buttons that are right next to the Go button causes a lot of issues with pressing the wrong button especially when there is no Home button like in the other models to reset the clamp to align with the Go button. So unless you press the Go button down long enough to reset the clamp into the right position to start, you oftentimes have the Go button in the back of where you're clamping hair to the iron. I'm not sure why they would get rid of this feature as I would think professionals would want this as well. So blindly reaching for buttons that have no indicators like raised buttons or raised letters has caused me to accidentally switch left/right when I wanted to hit Go. I guess if you're doing someone else's hair, you can see all around where the buttons are. In addition, with the big barrel, small clamp handle (not the side where hair gets clamped but where you use your hand to open the clamp), inability to reset, I have almost burnt my fingers trying to angle and maneuver the barrel to release hair.

Again, I don't know if this is because I have a Certified Open Box (which I would assumed they did some quality control on although based on the other review where hers didn't work, it seems questionable), I don't know if my temperature settings are accurate. I have tried 410 and 450 and found that with 450, I had to hold the hair around the barrel for double the time and/or had to recurl my hair in order for it to even curl because oftentimes, only the bottom of the hair curled and not the top. The 410 temperature seemed to be a bit more consistent. Again, I don't know if there is an issue with the heat distribution along the barrel either.

I was excited to try this after seeing Rosie Huntington-Whiteley rave about it, but I'm disappointed in the quality for the price, or perhaps this teaches me a lesson not to buy a Certified Open Box although I would have thought it went through appropriate quality control procedures to ensure it worked as intended.

It's definitely worth it!

Although I was a skeptic at first, the beach waver is absolutely worth it! I recently cut 10 inches off my hair & was a little stressed about how I would style my new hair. Thank god for the Beachwaver though! Makes it super easy to style & my curls actually last! It's definitely pricey, but the option to pay in 4 installments is really an amazing feature & makes this purchase a lot more doable. So happy with my purchase :)

FYI: i have naturally wavy thick textured hair (I'm Latina) and although they recommend this size/type for longer hair i think it works perfect with my new short hair which is at the level of my shoulders

So easy to use, great for long hair

I love this barrel size for my long hair. The Pro series is longer than the S series so I can curl all of my hair really easily. And the curls last for days! I love this iron so much.
