No longer worth it!!
I loved this product for years but then just switched to a similar product at a different company after the terrible new packaging! I am left with half a tube full that I can't even squeeze out. The expiration date on two different tubes was within 3 months of my purchase, even though my last dew skin in the original pump packaging had an expiration date years from when I purchased it. Last but certainly not least, the white letters peeled off on my hands every time I held it so that I constantly had flakes all over my face and hands when trying to apply the makeup!
Love the product
Hello, I have been reluctant to write a review because it's a mixed bag. I have been using beauty counter foundation for many years. It's a great product. However, when you switched from a pump to a tube, I found the product difficult to use. The white lettering on the outside came off in my hands and stuck to my face every time I used the foundation. When I no longer could squeeze any foundation out of the packaging, I cut the plastic and found more than a third of the foundation left in the tube. I'm not sure why you change something that wasn't broken. I imagine that the pump with more expensive packaging, but if I quit using beauty counter, that will be why.
Dew skin tinted moisturizer & Dew Skin tinted moisturizer
It took a minute to figure out what color is best for my skin! I LOVE this product! I love how I can mix it with the skin twin featherweight foundation. I have my winter shade and summer shade and mixing it with the Dew skin tinted moisturizer to give me the SPF protection I need. The reason I am giving 4 stars.The new bottles that the Dew skin tinted moisturizer come in make it so hard to get the product out, especially when it gets low with the product. Trying to squeeze it out the plastic bottle that are not user friendly. The "Beautycounter" printed label started peeling and I then would have little white specs of white paint were on my face. Which was then hard to pick off while it was mixed with the product from my fingers.
Feels more like foundation
I had to check to make sure this wasn't foundation once I started applying it to my face. It feels thicker and wasn't very moisturizing. It didn't glide like a moisturizer does, it was more dry as if I was putting color/cover up on my face. It also looked very dark at first, but it blended in nicely to my skin color. I think I will have to mix it with a moisturizer so that it is more smooth and a bit thinner. It didn't necessarily feel heavy on my face like makeup, but my skin also didn't feel fresh and clean like it does when I just moisturize. I will continue to use it and maybe it will grow on me some more.
Perfect for the Active Lifestyle!
Its always sunny and nice where I live so I am always outside. Having a protective layer of sunscreen on my face is a daily must! My job and hobbies are very active and wearing a full face of makeup is not practical. The slight tint I get from this moisturizer makes me feel a little more polished and put together at work without worrying about the time it takes to put on anything more when I start early in the morning or any more makeup getting smudged or coming off when I inevitably get sweaty throughout the day. I can't recommend this product enough for a busy, active, working mom!
Really Dislike the New Packaging
I have used this Dew Skin Moisturizer for almost 5 years now. I absolutely love it! It's so smooth and makes my acne-prone face feel and look great! That said, in the last year, the packaging has been changed and I strongly dislike it for 2 reasons. First, it's hard to measure or regulate how much moisturizer comes out at a time. I'm comparing this to the old pump-style packaging that helped me put exactly the right amount on every time. Second, I feel like there is so much left in the bottle when I'm almost out and can't get anything out of the tip anymore. With the old packaging, it almost felt like a tube of toothpaste where you could get so much out of it - almost like you were completely emptying it. With this new packaging, I had to cut it in half and then scrape the sides of the bottle. This stuff isn't cheap and it's a stretch for me to continue to use it (a total testament to how much I love it!) But honestly, Beautycounter, this new packaging makes me feel like you're trying to squeeze money out of me by making me buy this more often since it doesn't seem to go as far as it used to. (It's working, by the way, but I do feel a little let down and it makes me trust the brand slightly less).
Wanted to love it
I gave this 2 stars, which makes me sad because I really wanted to love this. Thus is a moisturizer with sunscreen. I wanted this to be more like a BB or CC cream. It is not. Extremely sheer coverage if any. I had to put on 2-3 coats to get even a slight color. Also after using this it is the first time my skin felt so dry and my skin is never dry. I used this instead of my Normal moisturizer and that was a mistake. So for someone headed to the beach and wants a sunscreen to layer on and give a sheen of color, then this will work.
Melts into my skin
Shade #2 is so similar to my skin tone that it looks completely undetectable. I have crinkly under eyes and this tinted moisturizer melts into the delicate under eye area and softly blurs and hydrates the area for hours. It doesn't have heavy coverage and yet I found that after a week of daily use my rosacea was calmed and a heavier coverage was no longer needed. Lasts an entire workday. Can be tacky so I set with a light dusting of powder. Luckily less is more with this. I tap into skin with my fingers and don't use a brush or sponge.
I found the one!
I have never tried tinted moisturizer, I have just always mixed by moisturizer with self tanner in the mornings. Now that I have this, I'm never going back! It's light weight and not too greasy with the sunscreen in it. It's provides coverage but not so much that it looks like foundation. I would say it puts a slight “filter” over my skin tone, but doesn't cover any blemishes. I love it for daily use working from home when I don't really want to put on a face of makeup. I don't feel like it's as moisturizing as I prefer in the mornings, but I know that's a personal preference, so I just put my other sunscreen moisturizer on under it for extra.
