Old was gold

I understand that there's a dire need to be in the market and therefore as a company, you need to discontinue a few items and launch new ones. Why not play with packaging and less noticeable ingredients? Why unnecessarily mess up the best part of the product. The old toner with chamomile was AMAZING. It was the Best toner that I was using for ages. Why discontinue the actual composition of ingredients? Next time, please change the packaging to make it look like a new product and not the actual ingredients.

No more rinsing with water

I have been narrowing down my must haves for my Clarins skin care regimen and this is one of the top ten. I replaced water for rinsing my Velvet Cleanser, with Hydrating Toning Lotion. We have very hard water, combined with dry climate, makes a very bad combination for rinsing your face. Using a toner to remove a cleanser seemed odd to me at first, but once I tried it I could see the benefit to my skin. In conjunction with the Soothing Toning Lotion, redness has resolved, skin feels and looks hydrated.

Missed the old chamomile toner!

I have been a loyal Clarins customer for 15+ years and had been using chamomile toner until it was discontinued. Whenever I had a skin problem, e.g after using new products or other brands products, I always temporarily suspended using any other products but using chamomile toner to calm down my skin. it always worked!. The new toner is fine but without the calming magic as the old chamomile toner. The new one sometimes even irradiates my skin, quite minor but noticeable. I am disappointed. Besides, the two toners are different products, so the reviews should be separate ones. Many of the high ratings are from the old products. The mixed reviews of two products do not give customers a true picture of the new one. Like many other loyal customers, I do hope Clarins would bring back the chamomile toner.

Great substitute for water

I am not typically in the habit of using a toner because I always found them to be quite drying. This one lives up to the hype and actually moisturizes my skin. I have used it to remove Velvet Cleansing Milk and Extra firming mask, and essentially anywhere I can cut water out of my facial routine. Our water here in Utah is very hard and drying to the skin. The scent is very light and fresh. I have seen an improvement in the overall tone of my skin, less redness, overall more even and (thank goodness!) less dry.

absolutely amazing - must try

For being a person that is being in skin care and against toners this is by far one of the best ones I have tried yet! I love how this light weight formulae glides on to the skin and gives it extra moisture and smoothness before moving on to the rest of my skin routine. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who currently uses toner or is interested in adding one to their everyday routine. I for sure plan on keeping this in my everyday routine it makes my skin feel soooo soft after application.

Hydrating toner that works with oily skin

I was worried this toner would make my face feel sticky or look oily, but it doesn't at all. It's a very lightweight hydration, and adds the slightest bit of glow and life to the skin after cleansing. I've been using it consistently for a few weeks now, and I do think it's improved the overall hydration of my skin after winter. I also think it's made my fine lines look better by making the skin look plump and hydrated. The only thing I don't like is the smell, which is a pretty strong "old lady" scent; thus the docked star. The full size is a bit pricey, but would be worth it. It would take me a long time to use it up because I just put a bit directly into the palms of my hands rather than using a cotton ball/pad. I would purchase this as my fall/winter toner, and would recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a sensitivity to fragrances.

Meh, didn't see a difference

I was super excited to get to try another hydrating toner (my faves!) but this one seemed like just another step in the routine that didn't add much. I saw no discernible difference in my time using it. And like the cleanser counterpart, the scent is too much even for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually a big fan of scented skin care. My skin can handle it without irritation, so I was excited to see that this had a scent to it. But oh my god y'all. It's like rubbing perfume on your face. And even if I wasn't actually having a physical reaction I felt super itchy and the smell was just cloying. The concept is one I like but the fragrance really needs to be toned down and hydrating properties turned up

Irritated Acne

I really liked seeing all the extra dirt and gunk that came off my face when using this toner. It definitely was a little drying on me so I had to make sure to follow it up with a moisturizer. I also think this irritated some texture and acne I had on my cheeks. It was burn a little bit and the texture seemed to get a little worse. I didn't notice any brightening or evening of my skin tone from using it either. Overall, I think this could be a good product for some people, but I would definitely buy the travel size first.

Nice But Numbing?

Unlike the cleanser, this product might actually be okay with my skin. It's not as hydrating as I would have liked but fortunately it's not drying either. I usually stick to korean skincare because it works best for my extra dry and flaky skin situation, so I used the seven skin method with this instead of cotton swabbing. My skin has been more vibrant but I have been more flaky too (I attribute this to the foam cleanser). My redness doesn't react to this so that's good too. One really odd thing though, is that this product has a numbing sensation. Not a stinging or prickling, but actual numbing. Not sure how to feel about it. I like the product but just not enough to choose it over my usual variety of essences/toners.

Gentle toner!

I first tried using this product at the same time as the gentle foaming cleanser I was sent At the same time. My skin ended up sensitive, irritated, and my moisture barrier was striped. I went back to my gentle routine for a few weeks and then tried only adding this toner to my routine. It was gentle, yet exfoliating, and left my skin feeling really nice! It is a wonderful option for people with dry skin! I'm glad I gave it a try by its self. The scent isn't my cup of tea, it's very floral, but still isn't a bad sent and it doesn't last long anyway.
