Bring Back Old Formula of Aloe and Camamille

Have been using this cleanser for 25 years. The old formula was so much better. It foamed and cleansed all my makeup off without drying my skin. This cleanser has a weird texture, doesn't foam and is hard to get out of the tube. I am now forced to try and find another brand that will do the job. Bring back the old formula

I miss the old cleanser so much. It was so light and foamy. This one is thicker and way different. When I put it on my hand/fingers to use, I have to add a tiny bit of water to get it to start to foam and most times it just falls off onto the shower floor. It really is okay to bring back old product that we all liked. Look closely at the reviews. Thank you!

Love the feeling

A little goes a long way. Received your sample and loved it so much that I had to go back and buy a full size product. It is a little hard to get out of the tube at times but that's because it's nice and thick, and that's what makes a little go along way!

Reformulated Cleanser Difficult to Work With

I am a long time Clarins user -for 30+ years and love the products I use with one current exception that I am compelled to write about. Basically this reformulation does NOT emulsify easily. Though I try to squish the paste with water, it no where compares to the original. It does not lather as well. I understand the need to bring out new, or in this case reformulated product, aka mature product. But in my opinion this new version pales in comparison!

Was their test marketing of the new formulation? There are many similar reviews with the same observations & feedback. There are clients who appear to like it so it shows not everyone is unhappy. For now I will use up what I have with hopes Clarins can reformulate the reformulate!

Also, I am sending a picture of all the product that is literally stuck in the tube. While the original formula also did this, it wasn't as much since it was creamier.

So everyone! Please be sure you cut the tube to get to the "paste!"

What Happened to Clarins Product Line?

So so disappointed as well with the new formula. Just like the others have said, it doesn't foam up, feels like there is a residue. I have been a Clarins customer for over 40 years and will be changing brands. Why? Because you discontinued, the gentle day and night cream, gentle exfoliating wash, loose powder as well as compact powder, changed the sunscreen formula so no longer have physical sunscreen, and the untinted chemical sunscreen on your website isn't available. Clarins go back to your original products, so loved your products then.

I do not like the new formula at all! It is thick and does not produce much, if any, lather - it is more like a wipe off cleanser than a foaming cleanser. When rinsed it feels like it leaves a residue which is NOT what you got with the foaming cleanser. I will not purchase this product again and will be changing brands going forward. I have used Clarins products, and specifically the foaming cleansers, for many years and I am so disappointed!

I agree with most of the comments. The new formula is not good. I have been a Clarins customer for 36years and have used many of the products. I did love when Clarins came out with the extra gentle formula and used it until it was replaced by this wicked one. This one is not creamy and soothing but rather thick and slightly drying if you can believe it. Also the packaging is wrong. The tube is too thick and hard to squeeze out this extra thick product. The texture is somewhat like a melted candle that is starting to dry up. If you have arthritis in your hands don't bother. I changed my cleanser to Oil of Olay gentle for a fraction of the price and works almost as good as your previous extra gentle. I still use Clarins other products for now until they change things for the worse again.

I do like this cleanser but tbh,much preferred the soothing cleanser with shea butter.This version does have shea butter and chamomile which is nice,maybe clarins you can make it a bit more creamy as very hard to squeeze the tube and does come out like a blob,pity anyone with Arthritis. I would recommend but please do something about the consistency.

Old recipe was magic; new recipe doesn't work

I have been using this cleanser since 2019; after years of struggling with my skin, this was the ONLY cleanser that worked. I really cannot stress enough how valuable this product was to my mental health, as having clear skin for the first time in over a decade makes a huge impact on a person, after all. Now for the bad news. About a year ago they changed the formula; the new formula is soapy, and strips my ultra-sensitive skin to the point of causing new flare-ups that then snowball into further flare-ups. I have been searching all year for a product that replaces the old formula of Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Shea Butter: it is an agonizing process, as my unhappy skin literally hurts with each new product failure. I have tried three separate new products and have each time had to return to my dwindling LAST bottle of the old recipe to re-stabilise my skin's health. I really, truly dread the day when I run out of the old recipe. If this company started producing the old recipe again, i would be beyond grateful... as it is, the people responsible for changing the recipe are currently responsible for more than a year and what looks like many more years of struggle and suffering.

DO NOT BUY!! This cleaner is a big JOKE!!

This product and all the other cleaners they sale, and yes I have tried them all are the worst. The cleaners they are selling now works like a joke! How can Clarins stop selling the best cleaner on earth their Gentel Foaming Cleanser WITH Cottenseed. I used Clarins cleanser with Cottenseed for years. That cleaner works like a MIRACLE!! What is going on; within the company that caused them to make this terrible decision to stop selling the cottonseed. Luckily I brought some extra tubes before they stopped selling this Excellent product. Sadly I'm almost out. I've been using this for years. It is as close to the fountain of youth as anything can get! Please let me know if someone has found a product that works as great as Clarins cleaners with cottonseed.
