I didn't want a chemical exfoliant

I bought this product to use it every day, to remove my make up. I don't use a lot of makeup and still it does not remove it correctly.

BUT the main problem is that my face actually hurts. After noticing this I read the ingredients to find out it contains citric acid, so it chemically exfoliates my skin. My face feels swollen and itchy after using it. It should be clear it's ment to be an exfoliant and not a cleansing make up remover since it should not be used in eyes either. I feel decieved.

Velvet Cleansing Milk (C's "NEW" Green Formula)

I just learned Clarins has 'reformulated' both their Cleansing Milks, DISCONTINUING both the blue-colored Alpine Herb infused one made for normal to dry skin and the pale cream-colored one, for oily to combination skin, along with their former toners. I've used the blue, normal-to-dry skin formula for 30 years. I was a teen when I discovered it. It was one of the best cleansers I've ever used, ever. So luxurious with a beautifully mild, subtle scent that's so typical in French skincare and cosmetic products. Today I tried the new (FOR ALL SKIN TYPES) Velvet formula as it's referred to; Number 1: not all skin is the same...,but I wanted to love it, so gave it a try. To say that I was disappointed is a gross understatement. The New formula is nothing like the old formulas - either one. The old formula would melt into your skin, leaving no visible residue, instead, it actually gave you a bit of a glow and it actually acted as a barrier to the elements. You could leave it on all day, even wear it as a primer tor in lieu of a moisturizer. It had a delicate dewy finish. You didn't have to rinse it off if you didn't want to. In contrast, the new formula leaves a white paste on your face as you massage it in. It MUST be rinsed off. It doesn't penetrate the skin as (both) the old formulas did, it sits on top, nor is it as emollient. It feels like your average synthetic drugstore cleanser and it' actually feels drying and tacky to the touch, until rinsed off. I left it on for a few minutes to see if it would improve. Instead, I could feel it tightening and drying on my skin. It's not soothing, it was uncomfortable. In addition, the scent does not compare to the former. It's just, well, nothing special. I have been a huge Clarins fan practically all my life and so today is a sad day for me. I will no longer be purchasing Clarin's cleansers and I definitely would not recommend this product. If you haven't tried the old formulas, you might not find this product so bad, after all, you don't know what you're missing!

Not equal to Alpine

I used to use the Cleansing Milk with Alpine Herbs (green bottle) but switched to this since the other is no longer available. This product does not rinse off as well. There are certain Clarins products that should remain the same, that's part of the reason I like Clarins. I am hoping the Beauty Flash Balm is not different from the old formula.

Unsatisfactory Replacement for C M w/ A H

I tried this product when it first became available, as Clarins was replacing it for their Cleansing Milk w/ Alpine Herbs. Let me tell you, IT DOES NOT COMPARE. I did not like the texture of the product nor did I like the results. My skin did not look refreshed, calmed, moisturized and smoothed as it did with the Alpine Herbs cleansing milk. But instead, it look somewhat dull and irritated. I also didn't like the updated versions of their toner. Clarins has been my "go to" for DECADES for my sensitive and dry skin. I have been using their cleansing milks ever since i was in high school. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THEY KEEP CHANGING OR DISCONTINUING PRODUCTS that hundreds of thousands of customers have been loyal to for years. Even if they want to market something new, they should at least maintain and produce original formulas for sale online. CLARINS, if you are listening PLEASE BRING BACK YOUR ORIGINAL FORMULA CLEANSING MILKS!!! If you don't want to ship them to stores, at least make them available online!!!!

not sure the purpose of this

This is good for breaking up makeup and sunscreen (1st cleanse) but I dislike that it leaves a residue on my skin after. This also irritated my eyes and left them blurry after use which is a major dislike for me. Opted to use this on my body instead of for face

Not it

This product also smells very odd! It isn't a pleasant smell and I hate scented products for facial. The product is very sticky and did not meet expectations. I cleaned it off after usage and never wanted to use it again. Once again, sorry for the harsh review but it really was not a vibe for me.

Doesn't fully remove makeup

I was really excited to try this but... While it was "milky" aka oily it didn't remove my makeup very well. Even on days where I had light makeup I had to wash my face at least twice.

It did also have a light smell that was nether good nor bad. I think I'll stick to my regular cleanser.

No makeup remover!

I received these complimentary samples from Influenster to try out. The Velvet Cleansing Milk really disappointed me. It could not remove my makeup at all! Although it's a gentle cleanser with a nice smooth texture, it could not provide deep cleansing. It left my skin feeling sticky & caked on with product. I definitely had to use another cleanser after to actually get my skin cleaned properly.

Perfume

I really wish I could say I liked this product. The smell was it for me. It smells like an old ladies perfume. I could not get past that smell. Once I used it a couple of times, it left my face hydrated. The issue I have is, it did not take off my makeup, I had to wash my face again to get everything off. Sorry not my cup of tea. I do not think I would buy this product.

never again

This is the first product I've received that I will never use again. The very second I put this on my skin my face started to burn! I was so scared that maybe I was allergic that I took it off immediately and put ice on the places it touched. This could be just me but I can't recommend this

Definitely not for me

The consistency of this cleansing milk was more like a sunscreen. Using it as a "cleansing" product felt wrong. I enjoy using cleansing oils and balms, but the texture of this product doesn't allow for optimal pre-cleansing unless you really gob it on. On top of that, while using very little product, it clogged my pores.

Awful. I had a severe allergic reaction to this cleanser. After being scared for my life I did my research on this product and saw countless lawsuits and discrepancies against Clarins for this exact reason. This is awful!!!!!!! Do not waste your time and do not risk your health!!!
