Watery

This stuff is a pale shadow of the former Clarins Milk Cleanser, which was nice and creamy. This cleanser has a nice scent but it's really watered down. Once again, I'm disappointed in the direction that Clarins has taken. It used to be my favorite line, but no more.

Not the same quality as 15-20 years ago

Unfortunately, Clarins products are not the same quality as 15-20 years ago. This cleanser is not as rich or velvety, and the scent is not as natural as it once was. Not good for dry skin. Will try oil cleanser before giving up.

Miss the old one

I used the green cleaning milk for over 15 years and this one is not as good. It also has a stronger scent- which is not reco'd anymore by my dermatologist. And as a migraine sufferer I can't use it. Sensitivity to smells is a trigger for us migraineurs- 4 out of 5 being women- clarins should take note.

disappointed with new cleansing milk

I had been using the old cleansing milk for more than 20 years. It was a favorite of mine. The new cleansing milk has a strong smell that lingers a very long time. Even after rinsing several times, the scent remains. I have a sensitivity to strong scents, so I will not be able to use this product.

Not the same Clarins quality

I've been using Clarins for 30 years and I am disappointed that they discontinued the Alpine Herbs cleansing milk that was simply wonderful. This product breaks my skin out. I've never had as many breakouts but this product is the reason. I hope Clarins is not compromising its high standards and hope they will discontinue this product.

Miss Alpine Herbs and Extra-Comfort Toner !!!!

I wanted to give this a fair trial before I submitted a review. I am 61 years old and since my college days, have been using the Alpine Herbs Cleansing Lotion along with the Extra-Comfort Toning Lotion. I have loved this regimen for many years. The Velvet Cleansing Milk is not a substitute. My skin broke out and I was left with an uncomfortable residue. I also tried Hydrating Toning Lotion which also did not receive my vote of approval. It has a bitter smell and did not leave my skin feeling "hydrated." I never thought a skin care regimen would have such an impact on my daily life. Would give anything to have Alpine Herbs Cleansing Lotion and Extra-Comfort Toning Lotion back!!

Bring back Alpine Herbs Cleanser

I absolutely Love Clarins and have used their products for over 30 years, but I am completely disappointed with its replacement! My skin doesn't feel as smooth after using and it has a tight feeling to it. Even after using the gentle facial peel there is no comparison. I'm afraid I'm going to be forced to look for another brand that gives my face that quench it deserves. Please bring back the old version!

Clarins face wash

I was expecting this product to be hydrating and help my skin which has been rather dry lately. My first impression for this product was great it smelled nice and at first, I liked this product and thought it felt nice on my skin and thought the toner I used was what made my face dry. However, after using just the face wash without the toner my skin was still insanely dry. I do not recommend this product for people with dry skin.

Am I doing this wrong?

Both times I used this, my face broke out. It was the only thing I was using that was different in my routine, so I'm sure this is what caused the breakouts. I will not be using anything from this brand again. I did receive this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Not for me

My face did not feel clean after using the Clarins Hydrating Milk Cleanser. However after I used my foaming face wash, I used it to hydrate my skin and then rinse. This is how I would use this product.

It does an alright job...

I enjoy the feeling of this cleanser while using it. it doesn't strip my face and does get a good bit of makeup off on itsown. I would definitely recommend removing makeup first, though. I usually do an oil cleanse for this and I did test this product with and without. However, I just can't get over the feeling like the cleansing milk leaves a film behind on my face? It feels smooth but not entirely clean. Smells very nice. I don't think I would purchase this product, though.

Not impressed

Unfortunately I wasn't impressed While it doesn't take much product to clean your face, it isn't the easiest to get the residual off my eyes. It does a decent job of taking off most makeup, it doesn't really help to loosen the remains of lash glue.

Disappointed

I'm a tried and true double cleanser so I was interested in trying a cleansing 'milk'. Sadly, this cleanser didn't break down my makeup as double cleansing has done rather effectively. I used most of the sample size to remove my makeup which didn't seem cost effective. I was happy to have the opportunity to try it though. On the positive side, it did leave my skin soft and hydrated.

Not For Me

I was really excited to try this product, but it was not for me. My skin felt super dry and my lips had a weird reaction and chapped after I washed my face. I wouldn't recommend after the way my face reacted, but might be lovely for someone else.
