DHC Travel Size Deep Cleansing Oil 5-stars Reviews
I hope to always buy this
I was skeptical about cleansing oils in general. My skin is oily combination, and I didn't want to risk breakouts. That said, I also know that cleansing oils can remove a lot more makeup than cleansers alone, so I gave it a shot. This is probably my favorite product of everything I own right now. I use it morning and night. In the morning, it dissolves my overnight treatments before I use my cleanser. At night, it melts my makeup (including waterproof mascara) so my cleanser works better. I love that it dissolves everything on my face, but then plain water breaks it down and rinses it away.
Hydrating and easy wash off
I use 2 pumps of this cleansing oil. I warm it up in my hands before rubbing it on my (dry) face. I massage my face for a little more than a minute and wash it off with warm water and then proceed to my next cleanse. I don't wear make up but I do use products that need to be taken off. After using this product for a week and a half I've noticed a difference with my skins hydration. This isn't oil that clings to the face. It washes off nicely while still feeling hydrated. I will be purchasing a bigger bottle once this is out.
This product is INSANE!
Oh. Em. Gee. (omg)
I don't care to write reviews because I feel I usually just go with whatever minimally works but this product exceeded my expectations. I was starting to care about how I removed my eye make up so I wanted something that wouldn't require too much rubbing. Recently learned makeup wipes are bad for dry skin (I've got combination skin), so it made sense to start trying other alternatives for my whole face. Let me TELL YOU! This was the first "alternative" I used, and I'm most likely never using anything else again lol 2 pumps is enough for you whole face! I rubbed my face for LESS than 30 seconds and all the product was off! Of course, you have to wash the oil off with water and then a second face wash but that's not a problem for me. Also, doesn't break out skin because it's washed off with a second face wash, but formula also feels sensitive.
SO!
Looking for something to quickly and safely take off your make up then this is PERFECT.
Looking for a product that gives you less of a step to use, I'd say skip it.
Magic!
After having my first child 2 years ago, and nursing for 18 months, my skin became SUPER SENSITIVE even to "the best" expensive cleanser/oil/moisturizer/serum. I've tried them all! My MIL has been using DHC for years, her skin looks great, and encouraged me to use some of her product during a visit. Y'all, GAME CHANGER! My skin has never felt or looked better. I've been able to give up makeup completley, my skin is hydrated, and I will only ever use DHC Products on my face ever again. If you're feeling hopeless about skin texture, dryness, or sensitivity after baby, I urge you to give this brand a try. A little goes a long way and your skin will thank you for it!
Love It!
I have been using DHC's DeepCleansing Oil for over 13 years; ever since I first tried it. It is wonderful. Make-up, including all eye makeup, easily dissolves and wipes away, leaving your skin soft and not dry at all. I squirt some in my hands, rub it all over my face, then wet my hands and "wash" my face bit more. Then a wet washcloth and your make-up is gone!
I had normal skin when I first started using it and now my skin (and the climate I live in) is dry. I don't know how it would work on oily skin.
Money well spent
I go on long walks every day and I wear mineral sunscreen, which is a headache to remove from my face. I got this oil because I'd read that an oil based product would remove the mineral sunscreen. I am very happy with the results. I've not attempted to use the oil to remove make up. I do immediately wash my face with a foaming cleanser after using the oil. I've had issues with acne in the past so I always make sure to use a second cleanser after using the DHC, just in case. So far, no problems. It does have a bit of an olive oil scent when you apply it but that's pretty much gone after you rinse off the oil.
People are using this wrong!
I've been using this product for months! It works well to take off makeup. You are supposed to use it on dry skin with dry hands. Take off makeup with warm water and THEN follow up with another cleanser!! Japanese culture uses double cleanser techniques to penetrate the skin. I use the face wash powder by same company right after oil cleansing. My skin feels nice , not oily and doesn't leave any weird smells I've seen people comment on. My skin breaks out quickly, but if you use this correctly you won't have breakouts. I will always recommend this brand. Their eye cream is amazing too.
First Wash
Okay, I just bought this during the big sale. I received it a couple days ago and was not impressed. I thought it would be a bit of a thicker substance but this has the consistency of like cooking oil. It's two or three pumps and boom all done. I literally used this once in my shower and have always struggled with blackheads on my nose, when I say I came out of the shower and more than half were gone, I'm saying I'm literally so IMPRESSED! I have tried everything, Cliniques wash and blackhead exfoliator, Estée Lauder, cerave, I have tried almost everything and I have found my holy grail. Where my struggle area is, my pores are small and almost nothing gets it clean. This did it on the first day and I'm shocked. I will pay full price if this completely cleans my nose! I highly recommend this product!
The best.
I have been using DHC for 20 years and my skin continues to benefit from the products. It initially helped me get oil under control and shrink the huge pores I had, but ongoing, the products have helped keep wrinkles at bay, skin clean and soft, and can't remember the last time I broke out. But these products are 'a little goes a long way' kind of products. I use it as part of the set, and the Japanese have believed in double cleaning for a while. I follow up the deep cleaning oil with their face soap, toner, and tea, even the olive oil moisturizer that YOU LEAVE ON. A couple pumps is all you need of any DHC oil product, but the deep cleansing oil is meant to be washed off with their soap. It all works together and it's AMAZING.the products do seem quite pricey, but they last months when used properly. I will never NOT have DHC.
great product!
this is a great product if you use it correctly. theres so many negative comments about this cleanser "breaking them out" or "being too oily." this is an oil cleanser, it's going to be oily. this I'd meant as step one in a 2 step cleansing routine. you use this first to break down the makeup and sunscreen on your face, then use a normal cleanser (one with active ingredients or a hydrating one) to wash your face. this should not be used as the only cleanser in your routine or you will break out! and oil cleaner is oil and meant to be oily. oil cleansers dont have active ingredients like aha/bha to combat acne. this product is so smooth and makes my skin feel so soft before I go in with my 2nd cleanser. you will love this if you use it properly and go in with normal expectations!
Incredible
I was hesitant to make the switch from wipes to cleansing oil as nearly every cleansing balm/ oil type product has made me break out. I don't know why I hadn't heard of this one yet but I'm so glad I found it. It makes cleansing my skin such a breeze. I genuinely look forward to my night routine after a long day. On top of using this as a makeup remover, I also use it on no makeup days to help break down my moisturizer before cleansing. It's important to note that this isn't a one step cleanse and go. You need to follow up with your regular cleanser to get maximum results. I can't recommend this enough. I'm so happy I can finally stop using wasteful wipes!!!
Game changer!
I really like this oil cleanser! Wish I would have switched sooner! I've been using "natural" oil cleaners for years now for removing my makeup. I've used coconut oil, grapeseed oil to jojoba oil. Those all worked fine for removing makeup but I would still have excess oil leftover from washing my face just with water. So I always used face wipes to remove what was leftover. Then I would double cleanse with my second cleanser (Cerave/Cetaphil). I love this oil cleanser and don't see myself switching back to natural oils. This product does a great job of melting my makeup but doesn't leave excess oil when rinsing off with water. I still double cleanser to actually "clean" my face. I recommend using a second cleanser afterward to actually clean your face. My favorite part is that I don't have to buy any more makeup wipes!
Love this product
This oil smells like a spa, feels great on the skin, and the fact that it emulsifies is INCREDIBLE to me. You can rinse it off like any regular cleanser and it leaves your skin feeling clean but not stripped. In terms of makeup removal, it works well although I think micellar water is better for eye makeup. This is definitely a great addition if you're choosing to double cleanse. I use it to massage my face sometimes and it works well. The best part is definitely the emulsification. Overall love this product and will continue purchasing it!
Please use this properly!
It's a great product and reading these reviews I think a lot of people do not know how to properly use a cleansing oil/ balm. It is step one of a two step cleanse you absolutely have to follow up with a water based cleanser or yes you will clog all your pores and break out! The benefit of the two step cleanse is that the oil will really break down and remove your makeup better than a water based. Follow up with a water based cleanse to remove any left over oils then continue in with your normal routine. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF HOD
PLEASE DONT USE AS A ONE STEP CLEANSE!!!
I would buy this again
I purchased the travel size because I was new to the double cleanse world and wanted to try the product before committing to the larger size and wasn't disappointed. It's really great at removing makeup- even waterproof mascara and lip stains. When I finished the bottle, I purchased Farmacy's Green Clean Balm because I had seen several skincare gurus raving about it. After a few uses, I can definitely say I prefer DHC's cleansing oil. Having to scoop out Farmacy's product was a bit of an inconvenience in the shower and it irritated my eyes every time.
Love For Double Cleansing!
I use this product as my first step in my new double cleansing routine to take off my makeup and I have never had my face makeup taken off better!
I don't do this everyday (only when I am wearing makeup) and find that my skin is SO MUCH smoother after the wash and the next morning too. I just feel like it gets all the makeup and oil buildup (I have extremely oily skin) that has been sitting in my skin.
I use it with dry hands and face and gently rub for a good 3-4 minutes to properly get my entire face. I also put more attention on my nose, cheek, forehead, and chin area where I often have small bumps and pores are biggest. Make sure you are generous with the product! I use AT LEAST 2 pumps (as it says) to create a high oil concentration on top of my skin to draw out the oil in my skin. I then wet hands and rub my face to get the cleanser to turn white then wash it off. I follow with a second lighter and water based cleanser to finish it off.
The likeness attracting likeness idea with oil cleansing makes sense to me so I decided to try it out this year and I'm definitely NOT DISAPPOINTED!
Overall Extremely pleased!
BEST MAKEUP REMOVER!!
I don't often leave reviews but I will on this one:
I wear waterproof mascara, with a final coating of Thrive Tubing mascara on my eyelashes. PLUS, I line my eye with waterproof liner. I don't like using anything where I have to use a cotton ball to get off my makeup anymore, because I don't like rubbing my eyes (it's pulling on the skin), so I starting using the Clinic Take The Day Off Balm, but that makes my eyes blurry. Then I tried Tulsa's cleansing oil.. this was too thin and it didn't remove all the black around my eyes. But THIS - DHC Deep Cleansing Oil is PERFECT! It comes with a pump, which I like, and the oil isn't runny; it's kind of thick. When you rub it on, it feels like you have substance there. So what you do around the eyes is rub on gently for about 20-30 seconds, maybe up to 40 like the directions say, or until your eyelashes feel soft. Then use warm water to wash off. I then use a cleanser afterward. The coolest thing about this product is it doesn't leave an oily residue on your face or around the eyes. Lancôme's eye makeup remover does that, and I love Lancôme's products but I don't like an oily feel around my eyes or on my face.
Bottom line: this product's packaging is convenient, the oil is thick and not runny, it actually removes all of my black waterproof eye makeup, and doesn't leave an oily residue. I definitely recommend this and will only buy this product from here on out.
Great product - Do not use everyday!
So I went on a whim to get this product specifically for my dryer days as a hydrating cleanser. The first time I tried it it did not go so well. It says to use it on dry skin, then add water.. no no no. It felt heavy and I didn't feel it cleansed well. So I put it to the side. Then my skin was dry again and I said let me try it. This time I was in the shower and my hands were wet, and my skin was damp from the steam. I loved it.. it thinned the product which didn't make it feel heavy - my skin definitely felt better. So I used it daily for about 4 days, then something said.. use a foaming cleanser( I use Aveeno, clear complexion), and something in my skin changed - it was more hydrated throughout the day, and it felt soft and like just good skin. So I decided I would alternate - I use the oil 4 times a week, and the foaming cleanser 3 times.. or vice versa. My daughter is jealous of my skin now because she said it is so clear and fresh looking. I don't use toner or serums.. Only these 2 cleansers and moisturizer( Dove Beauty cream is my preference). My daughter has uber sensitive skin and is working with a dermatologist, which is why she doesn't use this combo.. but overall great great product, I just wouldn't recommend using it everyday, or on dry skin.. use a bit of water
Breaks down makeup and skin feels super soft
I bought this as a trail size first. I found this product through a Youtuber I follow that reviews makeup. She exampled how well this oil breaks down makeup and you will never need makeup wipes! So freaking true ! I absolutely love this product. Believe the reviews ! It breaks down all my makeup with 2 pumps on dry skin. It legit melts away any dirt, and than I follow with my regular cleanser. Truly an investment. The trail size also has lastest me 5 months and I use it about once to twice a week as a makeup remover ! Must have !
Love it
I'm always outside; mountain biking, hiking, camping, so I always have sunscreen or dirt on my face. I was washing it twice after a good day of play but it either still didn't feel clean or it felt dry afterwards so I'd slather it with moisturizer only to be repeated. Then I saw this cleanser and tried a trial size based on reviews and hoping for more moisture and my routine changed. I now have purchased a full size and refilled my trial bottle for out of town trips. I use this every time I wash my face and follow it with my usual CeraVe cleanser and my skin feels amazing. I also use much less of the CeraVe and it lathers much better. I love this stuff and will continue to use it.
