Works great - smell is OK

I ran out of the Julep oil cleanser and wanted to order a replacement, but it was on sale so of course SOLD OUT. Bummed, I waited a week or two and then decided to try something else. The DHC is pretty much the same price as the Julep and had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. It works GREAT, and I do feel like I don't need to use quite as much as the Julep, but I prefer the citrusy scent of the Julep over DHC which smells like I'm rubbing straight olive oil on my face. It does work very well, though, so no complaints other than preferring the scent of another over the DHC.

Excellent product

This is an excellent product. It is amazing at removing makeup and leaves my skin feeling soft, not tight and dry. It works exactly as it says, dissolving all of my makeup, including my eyes, and just leaves me feeling refreshed. I do not dilute with a bit of water, as others have mentioned, because I think the oil needs to work on dry skin to break everything down. It rinses wonderfully, doesn't leave a greasy film or residue on my 55 year old skin (slightly oily/normal skin), and it has no fragrance to irritate. I wish it wasn't quite so expensive, but it is a great product, nonetheless.

BEST MAKEUP REMOVER!

This deep cleansing oil is amazing!!! I have oily and sensitive skin so I was skeptical at first to try this product out but the reviews enticed me to try it. I have always been a neutrogena makeup wipes girl but this product is def my new holy grail. It removes EVERYTHING! The best part is after rinsing face it feels smooth, clean and doesn't leave a film of oil behind. I don't lose any eyebrow hairs or eyelash hairs either when using it. I just love it and hope you ladies/gents enjoy it as much as I do!

Best eye make-up remover!

I have been using this for years to remove eye make-up. I have not found any other product that is as effective as this. With other products, I find I will still wake up with black under my eyes or still see smudges after a shower, not so with this. I don't use it to wash my entire face, only because I don't like the oil all over. I put oil on finger tips and gently rub eyes, then add some water to fingers and rub eyes again. The first pass puts it on and the second pass with water seems to emulsify the make up and then it washes right off. Glad I can get it here with my other stuff (and points!) instead of having another separate purchase elsewhere.

Holy grail

This was the first cleansing oil I ever used and I still love it. I have very dry and sensitive skin so the idea of using a face cleanser felt like a better option for me. What originally attracted me to this product was the olive oil. When I use this product I see a huge difference in my dry skin. It feels supple and moisturized. What's even better is that it doesn't irritate my sensitive areas on my face. Let's just say it isn't uncommon for products to give me a burning sensation.

I alternate between this oil cleanser and the Tatcha Camellia cleansing oil. I always find myself going back to this product again and again. The oil itself feels more on the thicker side, this is in comparison to the

Tatcha and The Face Shop's rice oil cleanser, but I don't mind it at all. One pump is more than enough but if I feel like giving my face a massage I'll use two.

This oil cleanser takes off all of my makeup in one try. That includes waterproof mascara. It doesn't leave a film or residue on my skin either. My skin feels so clean and soft after using that it feels fine to not double cleanse with a cream face wash. I personally always double cleanse but I wouldn't be upset with myself if I don't when using this product.

My only downside to this product is when it gets in your eyes it feels... weird. It's odd because it won't make my eyes sting or irritated. But it feels like a layer of oil is on my eye...just sitting there. It's a weird sensation. I think it's due to how thick the oil is. All I have to do is rinse my eye off and blink it out. Not a big deal to me.

Best makeup remover of all time

I've been using this cleansing oil for well over a decade and I'll never stop. Occasionally I admit I stray and try the hottest, newest thing but I always come back. Most other cleansing oils leave a film which requires a second cleanse or strips the face of all moisture. But not this one. It's the perfect blend of removing all traces of waterproof makeup, but without striping the face and making it feel dry.

It's so easy to use too. Just rub it all over your face and gently press it on your eyelids to get the eye makeup. Then emulsify and rinse off. My Japanese friends like to follow up with a bar/foaming cleanser but I don't feel the need to.

Just a piece of advice: when there's a sale, buy two. Once you try this, you'll never want to be without it

The standard cleansing oil part II

I wrote already but I literally made a discovery about 5 minutes ago; no update button so here's a continuation:

It dissolves the foundation off your foundation brush!!!!!!!!!!

Boredom made me apply a thick concealer as a foundation all over my face. The oil removed the makeup [as usual :)] but my brush was requiring far more soap and rubbing than normal. So I pondered whether the oil would remove it...I dried the semi-clean brush and my hands (oil is applied on dry skin/hands in general), lightly pumped about 3 droplets on the bristles [white tips] and they went from beige to white as snow.

I love this oil very much, and since I was so ecstatic about this additional function, I recorded a demonstration on my hand using the same concealer and brush. I had to tilt my iPad in downward angle to record so it was awkward and got a bit messy.

Two Generations of Oil Cleansing

When I was a teenager, my mom used this oil cleanser and the Mild Soap all the time. I thought it was weird to use oil as a cleansing agent, so I avoided it for a long time. Once I got older and jumped onto the K-beauty trend, I realized my mom had been double cleansing for years (which is one of the many reasons she still looks so young).

I did some research, tried the Oil Cleanser, and now it's my favorite product. You get a lot of bang for your buck, and it's non-irritating. I love DHC for their cleanser, and I have my mom to thank for it. Hopefully, when I have kids I can get them on the bandwagon too!

The standard cleansing oil

I've been using this cleansing oil for 4 years, when I dived in into skincare for the first time. I haven't tried any other cleansing oil that I can think of simply because this cleansing oil has set the bar very high. It doesn't remove, it dissolves and I think that is a subtle yet big difference. I am about to buy my 4-5 bottle and now I think this review is due :)

I have sensitive, dry, acne-prone skin (it's basically oil sitting on top of dry skin, so oil-free hydration is what I aim for). At at my driest or during winter, I apply 3-5 layers of hydrating toner, 1-2 serums, and 2 moisturizers...

Pros:

-It cuts through and dissolves all layers of product(s), even when heavily layered,

-Dissolves ALL makeup - you will not see any color on your towels/napkins/etc.,

-Dissolves physical tinted sunscreen (I use Cotz Tinted Spf 40 which is THICK)

-There is ZERO residue - I test products all the time, so if you use this oil, pat-dry your face, and then wipe your face down with witch hazel or some rubbing alcohol on a pad, you'll find it completely clean. Not even a hint of product on the pad.,

-You don't have to rub it in vigorously like you would your 2nd step cleanser; it doesn't 90% of the work for you. The other 10% is you putting it on and massaging your face,

-Oh and it's great to massage your face with.

-Makes the 2nd cleansing process so much easier because you just have the skin to clean. When I don't use the cleansing oil, even when I just applied moisturizer, I have to double cleanse to 'cut' through the product.

Cons:

None...really. For me anyway.

I wouldn't consider this a con per se but if you just let it sit for awhile, it may dry out the skin just a tad bit. This oil is like a vacuum; it will squeeze stuff out until you wash it off lol. I massage my face quickly so I don't lose moisture. It's not a big deal though.

I had the issue of the pump leaking as someone else mentioned with a previous bottle but it seemed to have been fixed with the current bottle I have. No leaks whatsoever. Just make sure to keep that plastic pump stopper thingy to avoid accidental pumps.

The first product I became loyal to and the one I will use until I'm 6 feet under lol. Or until they stop making it. 20/10.

The best facial cleanser EVER!

I was hesitant to try this product when I first received samples because I had oily skin and oils didn't seem to clean well plus they left a residue. DHC Deep Cleansing Oil is wonderful because it has a slight lather to it which rinses off with all the impurities on your skin. It leaves your skin feeling clean and soft. As time has passed and my skin has changed, it is still a great cleanser to use. There is none of the drying and stretching out of skin that some cleansers have.

Plus it has the purity of organic olive which is very important to me. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

My Pores are CLEAN!

I have very dry mature skin. I also have very sensitive reactive skin. I also have a problem with enlarged pores on my nose, chin, and certain areas on my cheeks. I have nightmare combination skin, I guess that includes cystic acne. This cleansing oil has cleaned out my pores, has made my skin smoother, has removed the dead skin flakes from the surface, and is helping to heal up my acne areas. This is crazy effective. I am still working to build the rest of my skincare system using DHC products, but this product? I want to keep it for the rest of my life! Impressive!

This oil has slowed my time

I have been using DHC deep cleansing oil for more than a decade, and never wrote a review, I owe DHC an apology. This is my nightly facial skin care routine. Whether I was tired, or exposed to too much environmental damage, this miracle oil cleanser can help to restore me to my best condition after 5 minuets careful facial massage. People always comment on my youthful skin, and I share the sample with them, they mostly add this oil to their routine. Beautiful skin is the foundation of a healthy image, and to keep facial skin clean is crucial.

Love Love Love

I have been using DCO for over 15 years. I kept getting samples and I wouldn't use it because I was afraid to put any oil on my face. Decades of oily, breakout prone skin had put me off of moisturizers, sunscreen, foundation, any kind of face products, but ESPECIALLY oil. I'd been stripping my skin with toners and acne products to get rid of oil. I finally started wearing light foundation and B.B. cream makeup to try to hide the sun damage and neglect done to my skin, and finally tried the DCO samples in my late 40s, and never looked back. It's amazing! All makeup is removed including mascara, skin is left soft and hydrated but never oily because it rinses so clean. Not once did it cause any breakouts. I've tried to get my daughter and daughter in law to try it, but they're afraid of oils too. I'll keep working on them ;) I mention it on YouTube influencer videos, asking them to try it. I usually buy 2 bottles at a time, and I've never had it clump up or change consistency like one reviewer said. Luckily, I've never had a bottle leak on me either.

Don't ever change this product.

Using for at least 10 years

I love skin care products and have tried many. This one is truly a staple of my skin care regimen and has been for probably 15 years. I love that it easily removes all my makeup - including waterproof mascara - and doesn't make my skin feel dried out. In the evening I double-cleanse (Deep Cleansing Oil + a regular cleanser) but if I just want to refresh during the day I use this alone. GREAT product. PS: I used to have acne-prone skin and this NEVER broke me out. Now that I'm older, I don't worry so much about breakouts but hate feeling oily. This doesn't leave any oily residue.

Gets Everything "Unwanted" Off My Skin!

I am amazed at how clean my skin is after using the oil as directed - even with a lot of makeup on, it all comes totally off, leaving my skin clean and refreshed. I am 78 years old with sensitive skin, am frequently told I do not look it, and credit this lovely oil with keeping my skin young. This is more than a make-up remover; it is a total skin cleanser/refresher.

My only complaint is the mini size bottle, which is so stiff you can't squeeze the product out but must shake it several times to get enough. I'll never order this size again. I prefer the medium size, with the wonderful pump applicator, and I decant oil from the large size when I am traveling. Please never change the formula!!
