Eyeko Black Magic Vegan Liquid Eyeliner 3-stars Reviews
Thin color but holds well
I've been using Nyx Epic Ink liner but wanted to try to find something that smudged less. Decided to try this one. Had a lot of good reviews, bold black color and was a fine brush tip (instead of felt tip). Tried it and was rather disappointed. Some of the bad reviews for this loner were about thin ink. I was hoping I wouldn't think that once I tried it but I was very wrong. The ink is VERY thin with pigment and it doesn't improve if you go over the line more than once. The line bled slightly too, which sucks.
The plus side of this liner, it holds up very well and doesn't smudge near as much as what I'd been using. That I loved.
But...I want a bold solid line when I use eye liner. Not a thin pigment. I'll def use this until it's gone but I probably won't buy again.
I would buy again
The flow is much better than the eye do liner. A little shiny for my taste but nice and dark. Lasted all day and after a nap. Had just a hint of smudge under eye by the end of the day. I like the consistency so that it doesn't leave chunks on eyelashes. This will be my night out liner.
Great when on but oh so LEAKY
This liquid eyeliner is awesome on the eyes; stays put and is the perfect black. But Eyeko needs to revisit their pen because every Eyeko liquid liner I e had (several) always wind up leaking and it's a hot mess. Worst part is the liner is so good that it's hard to get off whatever it spills onto.
Almost amazing
It's so great until it starts leaking and product gets everywhere and it's a huge mess. When I first started using it, I thought it was the best eyeliner in the world but after a little bit the ease of use turned into just having tons of ink all over my face because it's so watery it just never stops flowing out of the pen. The color is very black though. It's possible that I just had a random faulty applicator but I'm not risking it by buying it again.
pigmented but smears
I've been doing winged eyeliner for almost 10 years now. This is easy to use and pigmented but if you get too close to your lash line or inner corner and blink a little too hard, it'll definitely transfer to your under eyes and it is not easy to clean up. Washes off fine and seems to last at least a few weeks. I'd use this with caution and maybe fan it to help with the dry down.
Runs like watercolor on certain skin
This would be a perfect eyeliner if it didnt run like watercolors do when i make the tails of my cat eyes! Girl ive been doing cat eyes for 25 yrs and am a pro - but since it has been 25 years - my skin has become ever so slightly crepe like near my eye creases - for some reason when i angle the brush to do my cat eye tails - it goes wild and too much product runs out of the tiny mass of filaments they want to falsely call a felt tip and it begins to run into every microscopic crease my eyes have in my "wiser" years of 40. Then i have to stop and start over. Not sure if the formula gets runny over time or i have a faulty tip but it didnt happen when i first purchased. I loved this at first, but it has begun to fail me.
gets your hopes up then falls apart
This eyeliner is everything you want- precision, pigment, staying power on oily lids. Then a leaky mess that runs all over your face. Having to wash a glob of this stuff off your face is not fun. I thought it was a fluke and cleaned around the bristles and inside the lid. Gave it another try and it happened again. I tried contacting the company like Ultra recommended and the company said they can only help me if I buy feom their own website. Never buying eyeko products again.
Sucks.
not very pigmented I accidentally rubbed my eye one morning because something was in it the liner was gone. Such a shame the brush is really good and u can get really thin lines but the formula is just ew.
Not for The Faint Hearted
I
For starters this isn't a felt tip pen like the 'Eye Do Liquid Liner', the applicator is a plethora of thin bristles similar to a paint brush. This causes the tip to be quite flexible. This is actually good for both thin and thick application IF you know how to maneuver it, 9/10 you won't. Because these are hairs that separate when pressure is applied, you need a very light touch when using or else your line can end up looking "blocky". This pen is VERY precise and it is easy to make a mistake, if accidently gone off course with your line there is no fixing it past removing and starting over. The hairs can sometimes cause "extra lines" as you apply, or your line can look bumpy if your hand is too shaky. I find this pen easier for thin to thick Cat Eyes than Flicky/Winged liner, unless they are dramatic.
With that said because of the precision of the applicator your lines will be VERY SHARP and the formula is SUPER BLACK; best for Dramatic/Night looks. It is very liquidy and glides on (almost too) easily. I use a different liner and use this afterwards to clean it up if I feel my line isn't neat enough. If careful this is also really good for quick tightlining. The formula is NOT waterproof but it does not easily run on my oily eyelids, it does fade a little after 8 hours but with dignity; the line stays intact. I prefer my old liner methods as I prefer thin Wings on a daily basis but this isn't bad, just not the best.
Rubs off easily
I saw several great reviews for this eyeliner, so I picked it up during the sale. I really loved the brush tip. It made it really easy to get a smooth line without skips. I liked that I could control the thickness of the line very easily as well. The only downside is that I found it rubbing off easily if I touched my eye at all during the day. It didn't smudge, it just came off altogether. I also found the color faded a bit throughout the day. By the evening, it was almost gray instead of black. Overall, I really liked the brush tip and initial application of the formula, but I would not repurchase based on the fading and it coming off when touched.
Love the color....
Love to do a winged line, but the tip of the pen dries so fast and when you apply pressure, too much product comes out from the base of the felt, not the tip. Well I love the color and the longevity of the product, I don't think I would ever buy this again.
Nice design, not the color
I wear black eyeliner daily and have tried so many many brands of liquid pen liners. This does glide on smoothly and allows precise application with its design but doesn't provide me the color intensity I like so I have to go over and re-line another 1-2 times to get the desired black shade. I also found that throughout the day the pigmentation would fade which is a no no for me.
Great Pen, Not So Great Pigmentation
I really love the design of this pen. It really does make doing a cat eye much easier. However, the first time I used it it started to dry out! The next couple times it didn't dry but it also wasn't a very bold black. I may return this item since I'm looking for a very black eyeliner. I would try a product from this company again, as I'm thinking I may have gotten a lemon.
