Replacement for Boscia peel off mask

I was a happy repeat user of the black peel off mask from Boscia but then the formula changed and I needed to find a replacement. I'v tried many other brands and this is the closest to what I'm looking for. I need it to grab the little fine hairs that don't leave the follicle once shed. If I don't clear them, they hang out and little blackheads form. This really does the job now that I have used it a few times. The trick for me is to use a moderate to thick layer over my face and let it completely dry. Then I slowly peel from both my chin and forehead a little bit at a time slowly. Too fast and boy does it hurt! And any stray hair or eyebrow that makes contact is a goner. Five stars for efficacy, four due to the pain. But please don't mess with the formula! Skin type is oily, medium pores, not sensitive.

Tried it, liked it!

The first time I used the Black Peel-Off Mask, it wasn't dry enough in 20 minutes, so the second time I waited another five minutes. The third time I waited 30 minutes and it was mostly dry and peeled of nicely, with a little facecloth clean up needed here and there. I found that a gently rubbing with the pad of my finger got the little remaining pieces. I read the reviews and didn't want to gouge my skin with my fingernail, so I proactively used just the pad of my finger and the facecloth for the little areas that didn't peel in one sheet. I like this product because I had a noticeably smaller pore size from the first use. I like the pleasant, yet light, smell and I can't say that about many products. I definitely had no new whiteheads in the week when I used the product twice in the one week. This product is well worth trying, although I was only using it for pore size and small whiteheads, so I can only attest to that getting better. Definitely needed more time to dry, but not messy, even though it looks like it might be.

So I'm an avid deep cleaning pore strip user. I saw this in my suggested and thought... let's give it a try.

The packaging and description promised to pull the gunk out of my nose, chin and T-zone , some or all.

The price was low and the tube is of impressive size to value ratio. I truly wanted this to deliver.

Instructions said to apply a "thick layer" which seems like a rather loose term. But I applied what I personally consider a "thick layer" to all 3 areas. This consumed roughly 1/4 of the tube.So far so good.

Consistently of the product was glue like, so applying a "thick layer" was effortless.

Instructions provided said to allow to dry for 30mins. After that time it wasn't quite dry so I allowed 10 additional minutes.

Once dry it seemed rather thin. Peeling was east. It came off like any bottled peel. I was hoping for more. I was hoping to actually see the gunk that's been pulled out of my pores like I do with strips. This wasn't the case.

It did leave my skin feeling soft in the 3 zones... I'm not sure it actually cleaned my pores though.

So meh 😒

I had seen great reviews on this mask, and thought I would try it out. However, once it came, I saw that the mask was only for the forehead and t-zone area. Anyways, I was so desperate to reduce the acne on my cheeks that I tried it out. After 20 minutes, I tried to remove it. It was very painful, and I didn't see any results, besides irritation on my skin. Later on, I made my sister try it out, considering she had forehead and t-zone acne. This time, she only applied it to her forehead and t-zone. When she tried to peel it off, she started bleeding on her forehead. I would not recommend this product, but I'm giving it 2 stars, only because my sister said her forehead and t-zone area felt and looked better and softer than before, excluding where she bled.

Meh

I've only used this once and I made sure to put it on right after a shower so my pores were open. I used it on my chin and nose. I made sure to put it on super thick which took a bit longer to dry. Peeling off was super easy and not uncomfortable at all. I saw a little bit of difference on my chin but absolutely no difference on my nose. It did leave my nose a little dry afterwards too. I'll give it another go to see if I continue to use it if I'll see a difference but I probably wouldn't repurchase.

Definitely Buying Again

Boyfriend and my self love it. It exfoliates and detox skin and removed blackheads on the both of us. We did have to use it twice on the first day to get them all out. Its not gentle, but I have sensitive skin and it did leave it a bit red and bumpy the following day which is normal for me if I use a peel off mask while my boyfriend had no outbreaks. However, it was well worth it and we will buy it again. I can see both his pores and mine are smaller 3 days later. I had bought Feeling BeautifulPore Cleansing Volcanic Ash Peel-Off Mask which I recomend using after having used this product to gently exfoliate and detox the skin as the pores shrink. His are a bit more drastic then mine. I had also bought Draw IT All Out which did nothing so don't buy that one.

Brightens Complexion

I received the Garnier SkinActive Black Peel-Off Mask with Charcoal for testing/review purposes. I use the mask weekly. My problem area is my T-zone which is quite oily and includes large pores. This mask has done a very good job making the pores appear smaller and clearing the white-head plugs on my nose. I also tend to get small skin flakes on my nose, but this mask takes care of those as well. After I use, I have found that my skin is clearer, brighter and smoother. Having used it a few times now, I find that it's important to put a good amount to make sure the layer is thick enough to peel off. If the layer is too thin it can be difficult to peel off, and you might have to wipe it off instead. All in all, a great product!

Nothing special

I received a sample through PinchMe for the Garnier SkinActive Black Peel-Off Mask with Charcoal, and was excited to try it. At first, I tried it on my whole face, which was a mistake. Even though it's a peel-off mask, it took many tries to get it completely off, plus rinsing my face when I was all done. It took much longer than I had expected. Now as to the effectiveness of the mask, I didn't notice too much of a difference between before using it and after using it a few times. Overall, I don't know if I would get this product again.

Effective but Not

I was sent the Garnier SkinActive Black Peel-Ofd Mask with Charcoal to try for free from PinchMe.

I had very little expectations going into this as I'd seen several fails from all sorts of other brands' peel off masks. Since I was sent this for free and had nothing to lose, thought I'd give it a try.

To start, application was easy. The black goo came out of the tube easily and layered well on my face. There is a choice to apply this product to only your nose or to your T-Zone area. I went full-out and chose my entire T-Zone.

After waiting for 20min (as directed), 95% of the mask was dry and ready for peeling. That's where trouble started for me. The peel was not easy to remove. I had to scrape at my skin to pick up an edge which I didn't like. After getting a section started, I was able to peel off in large chunks but found some areas weren't dry. After peeling everything, I saw very little "impurities" on the mask. I don't have many blackheads to begin with so seeing it remove maybe one or two after so much work wasn't making me feel willing to try it again. The other downside was the part of the mask that didn't dry. Using warm water to remove residue (as directed), it was very difficult to remove from my skin. A lot of tugging and pulling again.

Overall, my final verdict is to not use this again. I would suggest if you're looking to wreck your skin, then I'd say buy this, but if you want to nurture your skin, steer clear. There are much better products out there that remove impurities.
