Pretty good

(4.5 stars) I have dark hair and knew it wouldn't show much, but, I am impressed with the results. Subtle and noticeable. Also non damaging! I have 3c-4a curls and if anything, this product helped define them. Had a great wash and go afterwards. Looking forward to repeating the process, super easy!

If you are a blonde, avoid dark mode!!

Please do bit buy this, or at least avoid the Dake mode if you have light hair color!! I had blonde hair and wanted to try black and after looking, I found this brand and wanted to try it however, they do not specify that if your hair has a high porosity, it will not fade!! it's been four months, i washed my hair over 100 times I have used three bottles of expensive clarifiers and still, the color did not fade. I reached out to the company and sent them pictures of my hair they told me that because my hair is porous the color, wouldn't fade. I wish they would've made that clear before I purchased this product. Now I'm spending a fortune at a hair salon. To get my hair back to blonde.

Great temporary product

Dark mode purchase. Thisbis the 3rd time I purchase this product. I love it. easy to use, not messy. Quick cover up for my white hair. Keep in mind that this is semi permanent, it's not going to work as great as the permanent hair dye that you buy in a box. I don't like dying my hair too often so I use this because it's easy and convenient to me.

Very happy

I purchased this hair color because it was cruelty free and free of ammonia and other harsh chemicals. I have avoided hair color for a few years because every time I colored my hair, it left my hair very dry and damaged. I am very pleased with the results of this hair color. I had a few grays and they are all fully covered. My hair feels really good and also moisturized, not dry or damaged at all. The color doesn't stain or transfer when wet, like temporary colors do.

Great alternative

I decided to give this a try, bwas looking for something with more gentle ingredients, safer without ammonia or harsh chemicals. This worked great for me. Covered all the white hair on my front. Easy to use. Easy to rinse off. I purchased the black. I will be buying a second box.

Dark mode worked on my medium brown hair

Only the second time I've ever colored my hair and it has been many years in between. I can't say the foam was all that great but probably a little less messy than creams. I have very smooth hair that doesn't tend to take curl or product well so I was not confident that this would work. The dark mode color made my hair a very dark brown. so far, no damage notice. The smell was rather unpleasant. It lingered three or four days. I am not sure the addition of lavender and other "natural" smells made things better or worse. The first two or three days my hair had more body in manageability. That seems to have gone away and it is back to its normal self. However, the color is staying and it has been two weeks. it was fun. I was not looking for a long-term commitment, so this fit the bill. I may try the rose gold or purple Next, but I am well aware with my hair color they may not work. Just for fun!

Finally a true PPD-free solution

After 15 years of testing products that claim to be PPD free incl Madison Reed etc, this is the ONLY product I've not had a reaction to that would work for grey and blonde hair.I'm blown away. It's a great product.Disclaimer - only tested red so far.

I will be back to pick up more of this as soon as I run out!

I've been struggling to keep my hair brunette (as it used to be bleached), but this product is exactly what I needed! It's demi-permanent, but the color is perfect and stays for a few weeks. Definitely recommend!

A Dye that Strips Existing Color

I love having pink hair, and I'm always searching for a shade of pink that I love even more than the last. I saw Hally in Rose Gold, it said it was safe for all hair types, and thought I'd give it a shot.

I got my roots lifted after dying my hair vibrant pink with another brand, then thought I'd add the Hally to the roots for a nice touch of pink at the top and all over to see how the pinks mingled.

Boy, did they.

I applied the foam color, and to be honest I should have stopped when I got a whiff of it. The smell of alcohol was so strong I opened a window. But hair color stinks sometimes, so I applied and sat in the bath for the 30 minutes it took.

As I rinsed it in the shower, I noticed my hair felt REALLY dry, which happens with color sometimes. I happened to look at a few stands that came out in the rinse and was alarmed to see they were light purple, with no hint of the near fluorescent pink that had been there before.

Dye should always add color, never strip it away. I'm not sure what ingredients in this mix did that, but I was left with a goldish mauve and the bright pink was absolutely gone.

But my biggest concern was the fact that my hair was completely fried. I have good quality products because I've been bleaching my hair (at the hair dresser) since 2017 but my hair was so dry from Hally, it was absorbing product off my hands like it was going out of style.

I've managed to salvage my hair's condition with a couple deep conditioning procures and oils, but this product cannot be called safe for all hair types if bleached and colored hair doesn't make it through 30 minutes with it.

In all fairness, I don't *hate* the color it turned, but this is not a product I can recommend or have any faith in.

Cola coaster for the first in!

I was looking to get close to my natural color and give my hair a break from bleach - heavy blonde highlights. This was easy to use and gave a fantastic result! It gave me a very cohesive color despite my before having dark brown to bleach blonde strands. It's been weeks now and I very happy with the result! It didn't damage my hair m, if anything my hair looked healthier after.. I'll keep using this ad my hair grows and until I decide what I want to commit to next!

BEST SAFE TEMPORARY DYE

Okay so I have curly hair and I don't like using color on my hair. However, i did bleach my hair with blonde highlights this summer but was missing my brown hair and was looking for a non-harmful, temporary, and safe at home hair dye to try. The instructions were easy, and the results were amazing. it left my hair super soft and a beautiful brown (i used cola coaster). The only thing that i didn't like was the smell of the product but once you hop in the shower after waiting 30 minutes it goes away.

Great coverage on my mostly white hair!

I stopped going to a stylist/colorist over the pandemic, and let my (mostly silvery white) hair grow out. My natural silver is a beautiful color, but it is also VERY aging. I didn't want to go back to permanent dye, and I'd always wanted to have fun-colored hair. After some digging, I discovered Hally. Despite never having dyed my own hair before, I've been coloring my hair "Purple Avalanche" ever since!

I get fantastic coverage on my (normally) color-resistant, mostly salt/some pepper hair, and receive compliments EVERY time I leave the house - even when I'm otherwise having a bad hair day! I only touch it up when my roots bother me; perhaps thanks to my silver hair, every shade, as it gradually fades, still looks great (ymmv).

I hope they never stop selling Purple Avalanche - I'd be lost!!!

fun way to dye your hair!

i love how it was a foam, my best friend and i did it together and we had the best time just sitting in the restroom trying our best at getting it evenly applied. i have thick hair, and it's past my shoulders but one bottle was enough to cover my hair. i have dark brown hair, and i used the purple dye without any lightening. it came out more red but since my hair was already dark, i wasn't surprised and it wasn't the products fault. this stayed on for MONTHS, which is great if you're looking for a long lasting color. but like i said, it was just my dark brown hair with a red tint to it, so it wasn't crazy. i would recommend doing this with a friend!

Disappointed

Followed instructions and left it in for 30 mins, then reapplied and left it in for another 10….. but my naturally light blonde is still naturally light blonde. There's a sliiiight tinge of rose gold if you use your imagination, but I'm unsatisfied.

Not a true purple avalanche but will buy again

Evened out my brown/gray roots and previously color-treated hair to a lovely rose hue with a touch of lilac. While not the biggest color payoff, there was plenty of foam to cover and it was shockingly easy to clean from my skin and counters. I did not have high expectations (the rule of bleach is long established for vibrant color and that's unlikely to change) but wanted to try something new and more gentle and I'm pleasantly surprised, my hair feels great!

i wanted to love this

as i was dying my hair, it seemed to be processing very fast. i bought cola coaster and i have level 9 blonde hair. my hair has a pretty nice porosity, so usually my hair takes in dye fairly fast. i still followed the instructions and waited like it said. i even kept it on just a tad longer since it's demi permanent. yet once my hair dried—like it was the faintest hint of a cool brown. which is not what the box shows. you could barely tell i dyed it.

i love the concept of this. i think this is a great option for kids or teens, like to introduce them to healthy dying. but if you're looking for actual results try manic panic or artic fox. this was a complete waste of money for me. yet, i would totally recommend this to parents, i think it's great if your kids are wanting to try fun colors or something new! i was able to easily part my hair and make low lights (they just didn't really show up lol) so i imagine for a teen/kid it could be neat to just try out.

Foam hair color is my new favorite

I absolutely LOVE the foam hair dye. It was the easiest way I've ever dyed my hair. It covered wonderfully all the way down to the roots without issues. I bought black and it's a gorgeous deep shiny black. I'll never use another hair dye after using this.

I wouldn't recommend

I picked to use this one because it was better for your hair then regular dye. My hair is very light so I didn't have to bleach it. I put it on, left it for 30 min and rinsed! Well it turned into a more copper color. It only really showed in the sun.

So Awesome!

I really loved using Hally! I used atomic blonde on my dark blonde/ brown hair. I was a golden blonde when I was younger and still would be if I went out in the sun lol. But now Im indoors all the time and my hair was very brunnette with blonde undertones/highlights. Ive used hydrogen peroxide and lemon juice to lighten in the sun before but this worked so much better! Not quite as light as I was hoping for in my daydreams but definately lighter that I thought I could go in an hour without bleach! I have thick hair down to almost the bottom of my ribcage and one bottle was enough that I had so much foam I didnt know what to do with it. I left the foam on for an hour and love the results! oh also I did try 48 hours before to mix some of the developer and color (like a teaspoon) and did one small section of my hair but it didnt do anything, when I used the whole bottle though and shook it up it worked great.

Pleasantly surprised

I am a natural level 8 blonde who is tired of paying an obscene amount of money for my hair (that and student loans.) I picked the atomic blonde up on a whim and like it! I would say my hair is about two shades lighter and it is definitely cooler. I wanted an ashy, light blonde look and that's what I got. My roots are lighter too but were left with an orange tint. Personally, I don't mind because it's a very subtle, cool shade and it kinda reminds me of Sun-In. I'll likely use this product again as it's good on the wallet and my hair doesn't feel fried. I wouldn't recommend it to someone that is particular about their shade of blonde because of the orange tint on the roots but if you're naturally blonde and looking for a change up or alternative, I would definitely recommend this!
