Juvia's Place The Nubian Glow Eyeshadow Palette

Dry in the Pan, Performs Well on the Eye

I like this palette and am glad I can add these colors to my collection, but there were a few issues I want to share. I bought this specifically for the yellow matte shade, and was a little concerned because both it and the orange matte felt dry and chalky when swatched. Thankfully, this was not a problem when I applied it to my eye, but it did take two or three layers to get a strong pigment, so I don't know how strong it would be on a darker skin tone. It was also a little more challenging to blend out than I have experienced with other Juvia's Place palettes, but not so difficult that I'd return it (I'm very impatient with blending, and this was still tolerable).

A bigger concern is the orange glitter color on the bottom row which, while stunning, is pretty chunky. I was surprised to see this was marked as an "eyeshadow" palette instead of "pigment" palette since I don't think the size of the glitter is entirely safe for use around the eye. I'd recommend applying this shade carefully, and, when removing it, be sure to avoid rubbing it into your eyes. No one wants a scratched cornea.

With these notes in mind, I think the price is low and you can make it lower by applying a coupon, so it's worth giving it a try if you like these shades.

Chalky

Beautiful colors but Matte shades are chalky and hard to blend. The shimmer colors work well but don't last even with primer.

The palette and quality of very good but the colors are much darker and duller than they appear online.

Nubian Glow Eyeshadow palette

True to color with buildable depth of color! I believe it would look nice on all skin tones. A little difficult blend.

With a little patience, it looks great!
