So far, so good!
I have thin and pretty fine hair and I wanted something that didn't dry out my hair like the mouse I was using (not Living Proof). My only concern was that it would be too heavy. It's not! It actually makes my hair feel soft yet also has body and doesn't feel greasy. I just don't use too much. On the second day, I use a only little mid-way down the length to the ends.
loved it
I have fine medium straight black hair. I have faced some hair thinning these past few years and am always looking for products to add volume to my hair. I loved this product. it added volume and fullness and made it look much more alive when I used it. it gave bounce to my hair. I just part my hair into two and use a small amount on both sides while my hair is damp. then I use a wet brush and brush it through my hair so it distributes evenly. then blow dry. the result was great for me and it left my hair very smooth as well. didn't have dryness like other people in their reviews said. definitely recommend this product.
There are pros and cons
I have tried tons of thickening products for my hair and it seems to be a common occurrence that these types of products make your hair feel straw like and tangled. This product is no different. After using it and blow drying my hair it felt completely like straw. It didn't feel quite as bad when I ran a straightener through it.
Now, on the other hand this actually does work to make hair feel and look thicker. So this product is a trade off…..works to make hair thicker but your hair feels like straw. So pick which is more important- silky hair or thicker hair.
Also on day 2 of no hair washing my hair doesn't feel as thick so this product is long lasting. I'm unsure if I will purchase this again.
Too thick and oily for genuinely baby fine hair
On Baby Fine Hair and this product:
I have real baby fine hair. Lots of people talk about having baby fine hair, but really don't. It's a mixed blessing. Straight baby fine hair is so smooth that clips, bands, etc. can slide out of it unless there's silicone on the inside of a clip to grip the hair. If your baby fine hair is light in color, it may be almost see-through when backlit. This is not great if you want to feel like you have a nice full head of hair. If you take a strand of baby fine hair and hold it parallel to the floor, the strand itself is such a small diameter that it forms almost a sharp 90-degree angle hanging straight down from the edge of your fingers; no curve of any sort as it hangs down. It's hard for straight baby fine hair to hold a curl unless you do harsh stuff to make it hold. That, in turn, damages your hair. Almost any processing damages baby fine hair. It's also very easy to break strands of baby fine hair so you have to comb or brush carefully. Baby fine hair will blow everywhere if there's the slightest breeze. In my case, that means I've always got messy hair. Light baby fine hair is a pain if it gets blown onto your face or into your eyelashes. You can feel it's there, but it's hard to see the individual delicate strands and hard to detect them with your fingers. That's the scoop on baby fines. You live with it and figure out how to deal with it.
BUT, straight baby fine hair can be so shiny and smooth that it can look and feel as luxurious as silk when it's in good condition. Like babies' hair! This can be lovely if your hair is thick enough.
I've tried this product as directed with bad results. The product is too oily or thick even when put on extremely sparingly, so it weighs my hair down, making it look unwashed and stringy. So, I decided to try to use it as a rinse after shampooing, and have had better luck. I distribute it throughout the hair from roots to tips and then rinse it out. Baby fine hair people will feel a kind of stickiness or roughness once it is rinsed out, and will have to comb their hair carefully so as not to break it, but it adds product in just the right amount for real baby fine hair to have some bounce and look thicker without weighing it down or making it look greasy. It's not going to be a dramatic difference though.
I have had far better luck with the Living Proof Thickening Mousse. After trying what feels like hundreds of conditioners, mousses and creams that did nothing, LP Mousse has been my go-to product. It's the only product I've found that makes my hair look thicker and that lasts all day looking great. It makes me feel almost like I have normal-people-hair! But I take breaks. I found that blow-drying damages my hair too easily, and the mousse, although super effective at making my hair look thicker and giving it more body, makes my hair sticky enough that I break hair easily, even when combing gently. So, Baby Fine Sisters take note. You have to handle your hair really gently with these products. Personally, I'd opt for the LP mousse over the cream, and be gentle with my hair. Hope this info helps!
The only thing that has ever worked
I have long, very straight, fine hair. It dries straight naturally and I have never used a blow dryer. This is the only product I've ever found that gives my hair lasting volume when it's more than shoulder length. I've tried all manner of treatments and mousses; some worked for about an hour but most just weighed my hair down. This one lasts all day and is not sticky or oily.
Holy grail for fine hair
I have super straight fine hair, but I have a lot of it (although you couldn't tell). I got this cream, and sweet mama my hair is so full! I use the full shampoo & conditioner first, and then use this cream along with the Living Proof Perfect hair day 5 in 1 styling cream as well. None of the products make my hair feel weighed down, or leave it looking greasy and product filled (like most other products do). BUY THIS!!!
I am obsessed with this product
I'm a huge skeptic when it comes to products that market themselves as "thickening" or "volumizing." I have fine, thin hair, and those products never actually live up to my expectations. There were so many good reviews for this product that I decided to try it, and I'm SO glad I did. This is a permanent part of my hair routine now. I've always wanted long hair, but because of my hair type, whenever it gets past my shoulders it goes limp and lifeless. With this product, my long hair looks AMAZING. I don't have to add anything else to my haircare routine, other than shampoo and occasionally a little bit of conditioner. I use it most of the time without heat styling and it adds visible volume. And when I do blowdry my hair, I have volume that I thought was impossible for my hair type. The price made me do a double take at first, but a little goes a long way. I got the travel size because I didn't want to pay for the full size before testing it. I've been using the travel size for almost three months now. This product is a game changer!
Works in the best way possible
I've wanted to try this brand but the price always drives me away. I tried this having used others that didn't impress me. They made my long gray hair lol and feel gritty. As a Gray hair there'sa fine line between looking like a sexy messy hair and a bag lady. So I tried a trial size of Living Proof and I love that my hair is still soft and my hair is actually more fluffy and that makes it look thicker. I'll buy a regular size.I knew when I rinsed it from my hands after applying that it was good, as the product wasn't like slimmer glue but came right off!
The best I've found
I have tried so many products for my thinning hair. I usually end up with either greasy, dull or stiff hair. I have short hair and use about a dime size (as seen on a YouTube video) and work it well into your damp hair. It gives nice volume without the stiffness or dullness, while keeping the shine of my highlighted hair
The BEST!
I rarely write a review unless I absolutely LOVE a product... and I do! So many other products for volume leave my hair hard, stiff, sticky etc.. my hair is so soft and full. I also usually end up using more product that suggested but I followed the directions and I'm so glad that I did. This bottle will last a long time. It's not expensive when you realize how well it works and how long this bottle will last! I'm so glad I found this!

How To Use
A little goes a long way. Start small and add more as needed. Apply a dime-sized amount to clean, damp hair, from mid lengths to ends. Avoid roots. Blow dry. Use a round brush for maximum body and fullness.
Usage Tips:
- Finding the right amount can take some experimentation. It is possible to use too much, so if your hair feels greasy, reduce the amount you are using. If you don't feel the thickening effects, increase the amount you're using - a dime-sized amount at a time.
- Full Thickening Cream has light conditioners in the formula. However, if your hair is especially dry or damaged, you might want to use a leave-in conditioner as well. Apply a leave-in to dry, damaged areas before applying Full Thickening Cream.
