Living Proof Travel Size Full Thickening Mousse

I bought this product for the sole purpose of using it when I need volume!

My natural hair is limp and sticks to my head, so on days when I have an event and need volume this works great.

Caution: it is sticky and can leave your roots feeling a bit rough.

I tend to apply on damp hair and blow dry immediately after (head upside down) and this gives me wonderful volume.

The next day my hair will still maintain volume but have that rough texture so this isn't for everyday use imo.

The smell is like all the other products from this like which I enjoy.

Expensive and deliver system is bad

The product itself is good, except it is very expensive and there is a lot of product waste. At least 1/8 or more of the product is wasted because you can't get it out due to the dispenser. For the price of this product, I didn't find it any better than less costly products. Since you lose so much of the product, it is even more expensive.

Disappointed

I usually love Living Proof products but this is one I will never repurchase. As other reviewers commented, it absolutely leaves a film on freshly washed hair that doesn't comes out until the next wash. I tried using just a tiny amount and it still makes my hair feel gummy and filmy no matter how well I brush it out and blow dry it. I don't get that silky hair feel after my blow out whenever I use this product.

Use to be great

This stuff use to be awesome but since it was out of stock like 6 months then came back it seems they changed ingredients or something because the mousse comes out super watery I've tried everything from buying at least 4 different bottles, shaking it, etc. this is super disappointing because it worked wonders for my thin hair but now it just makes it look gummy/greasy. The smell still smells really good, but that's not enough to use it if it doesn't work anymore

not for me

I had to get this because it was the only travel-size mousse I could find, so I sucked it up and bought it . I hope I don't find myself in this position again, and I certainly won't be buying the full-sized version. It worked okay, but there are others that don't cost as much that work as well or better. The real problem is that it left my hair feeling not quite clean, which is a powerful negative.

SO worth it !

I tired the mousse with the full thickening team from the Living Proof line for the first time today and OMG! my hair is definitely thicker looking especially in the front where i needed it the most. I would try the travel size bottle to see if it works for you first but i will be buying the full sizes soon !

Full Thickening Mousse is a great product!

I really like how the Full Thickening Mousse gives my hair volume when using a hair dryer. And it stays. Doesn't feel sticky like some products do. My only negative is I usually end up leaving about 15-20% of the product in the can as it stops pumping. I've tried everything to get it out but no luck. I think the manufacturer needs to rethink the design as it's too expensive to waste product.

My favorite product

I have fine, limp hair. This product has been my saving grace! It's the only thing that makes my hair look genuinely thicker. It does cause a lot of build up over time, so you'll need to do an apple cider vinegar rinse one a week if you use it a lot. I've also found that it works a lot better if you put it on when your hair is already starting to dry. Don't slather it on soaking wet hair. Towel dry your hair, give it about 10 minutes, then massage the mousse in just before blow drying.

Sorry but no

I got a free mini size of this when I purchased a full size of the new voumizing and texturing spray (which I love). First, the good. Yes, it makes my hair look thicker and it gives it volume. Lots of it. But I had the same bad experience as many other reviewers: it made my freshly shampooed hair feel gummy to the touch. It felt as if I had sprayed dry shampoo on my wet hair and then blow dried it. Weird. And it also made it harder and longer to style. I hate to think what my hair will look like when I wake up tomorrow. Yikes.

So the question is does the good (lots of volumuminous, thicker hair) override the bad (gummy, heavy hair, unpleasant to the touch)? The answer is ... no. Glad I got a mini. I'll go back to L'Oreal's Boost It Volume Inject Mousse. It does a much better job for a fraction of the price.

For genuinely baby fine hair, this works... BUT

For Baby Fine Hair People: This works! It's the only product I've found that actually makes my genuinely baby fine hair look thicker and appear to have some body. The effect lasts all day and onto the next if you decide not to wash your hair every day. I use it sparingly and blow dry carefully though, because it does make your hair a little stickier before it's dried. That can cause baby fine hair to break when combing. So use it, be very gentle when combing or brushing, and enjoy. This product works better for my baby fine hair than the Living Proof Full Thickening Cream. I found that product to be too greasy and it weighs my baby fines down. I wrote a long review about the LP Thickening Cream and dealing with baby fine hair in case that's helpful to anyone. My one complaint about LP products, or any in general, is fragrance. I'm picky about scents and would never wear this scent as a perfume, so why would I want it anywhere on my body? I wish all these products had a fragrance-free version.
