Olay Mini Regenerist Retinol24 +Peptide Night Moisturizer 1-star Reviews
Regenerist retinol 24 hr night cream and eye cream
I don't know how old most of the people reviewing this product are? But I'm 47 and have dry skin. I told that to the skin adviser at Olay. I switched from the regenerist overnight cream to this one for the retinol. She was in her 60s and said it was great. It left a dry feel and my skin was a little red after application. It did pill around my nose as well. Woke up to skin that felt like sand paper this morning. Put on my daily regenerist micro sculpting spf 30 Moisturizer this am. I'm hoping that will counteract these affects. I'm very disappointed after one use. I'm hoping it will improve and is just temporary but there are NO moisturizing affects to this product at all! Also bought the 24 hour eye cream for night.
Beware People with Sensitive Skin
Have used other Olay products for 30 years. Used this product at night for 2 weeks. All of the sudden after this time, my skin where applied turned bright red, hot to the touch & could only tolerate cold water on it, not even soap. This redness lasted for 5 days, followed by all over peeling of the skin, as if I had gotten a sunburn. Made a trip to urgent care & then to the dermatologist, it was that bad. I got prescribed a steroid because my face was also swollen. My skin took over 2 weeks to calm down. The derm guessed that I am allergic/sensitive to the preservatives used (not the active ingredient, as I had used another brand of retinol before that one got discontinued). Will only be buying products which advertise for sensitive skin/few to little preservatives.
Absolute FAIL
I bought this due to the amount of positive feedback! I've been using it for over a week and it has done nothing but dry my entire eye. I use it top, underneath and all around and I wake up with flaky skin. It is not moisturizing at all! I love Olay products, but this was a complete fail for me. I just don't understand how it is happening to me yet thousands of positive feedback from others. Kind of makes me wonder if any of those are paid or fake. I do not use anything else with it. Just wash face and apply it before bedtime. It applies very well, creamy, a little is all that is needed. Literally just a dot and I pat it with my fingertips all around my eyes.
I'm 46 years old and this was the worst eye cream. I wonder if I can return it after giving it a try for a week.
Does not moisturize..
Have been using Olay products for over 40 years. Was excited to use this product because it contained both hyaluronlic acid and peptides. I am very disappointed. Not only does it seem thick in the jar, but once applied my skin does not feel at all moisturized. In addition when I apply my foundation, it does not go on smoothly, but actually balls up on my face. I have tried waiting for 30 minutes before applying foundation with the same results. It is the worst Olay product that I have ever used. I am very disappointed.
Unexpected reaction
I tried a sample after a middle-of-the-night shower, figuring it would be a good short test time. It felt wonderful at first, sank into my skin great; I was even half considering replacing my usual moisturizer. But when I got up just three hours later, half my face feels and looks sunburned.
I don't have sensitive skin, and this is the first reaction I've had like this, but looking at reviews, I'm not the only one. Not everyone's skin will react this way, but I seriously recommend testing the product before buying it, so you'll know which camp you fall into.
A terrible disappointment
The ad says " Visible wrinkle results start day 1" and I have to agree (OK: I am being sarcastic). Look at my forehead. I have been using for the last 5 days the new formula on the left side of my face and on the right side the old formula. You can clearly see new wrinkles appeared on my left side where I used the new formula: they are visible all right! What have you done to a good product? I have used your old formula for 10 years. I am 54 years old. I am sorry I cannot use your new formula. It is not good. What a terrible disappointment?
No results and hard to use if wearing make up
2nd part of review due to length. Sticky once on-impossible for applying foundation. I tried putting it on hours before make up, tried using a moisturizer over it, make up application spray, primer, & different foundations–nothing helped. If you don't wear foundation it won't be a problem. Very disappointing product–especially for the price. Also, it's hard to get product out of the jar once you get past the top. It should come with a little plastic spoon or stick to scoop the product out.

Returning this product
I bought the travel size of this product to try out. In less than a week my face broke out terribly, my skin was red/blotchy, my skin was super oily/greasy and somehow with all of that oil and grease feel I had dry irritated patches as well.
I really did have high hopes for this product. The tone correcting cream and the regenerist serum also gave me these same bad results. I'm currently trying to soothe my skin back to health after this.
While this may work for some, I would definitely suggest buying the travel size to try it out before splurging on the regular size.
BADLY IRRITATED my skin
After I first tried the cream, I noticed my skin had a little bit of shimmer, and the cream was nice and light. But I have fairly dry skin, and I didn't feel like I was moisturized at all.My skin felt very tight and dry. After two hours, my face was splotchy pink and felt like I had a very bad sunburn (I hadn't spent time in the sun though). A few hours after that, I got raised bumps that were flakey. Now, I do have sensitive skin, but I've always been able to use regular moisturizers without a problem like this. I wouldn't reccomend it at all if your skin is sensitive.
I wanted to love it but...
I will always remember my mom giving me my first moisturizer as a teenager in the iconic Olay bottle, and after reading over 50 reviews about how amazing this serum is, I figured a moisturizing, regenerating cream by Olay at 26 would be the best preventative from getting wrinkles or losing collagen. The first night, I put it on and woke up with glowing skin. I was ecstatic...Well I decided to wear it under my makeup because it helped smooth my skin. My mineral foundation went on extremely blotchy and by midday, I could feel throbbing spots on my face in places I never even broke out on as a teenager. Sure enough, when I got home, I had large cyst-like pimples growing. At least 5 of them!! I think my skin just could not tolerate this formula. I decided to give it a second try and use it only at night. It looks great around my eyes, but the rest of my skin just got worse. I tried it for about 2 weeks. It did not get better and my face is about as broken out as it has been in years. I've decided to use this only around my eyes being that the eye area seems to be the only place it does not irritate my skin :( Sadly, very disappointed.
I wanted to love this...
I bought this when my local ULTA was out of my Clinique moisturizer & I was desperate. I had used this in the past and the Frangrance Free option made it appealing. I thought I might rediscover something wonderful & save a little money.
This product does deliver moisture. My skin feels soft and moisturized in the mornings - even after a nighttime application. The one "con" for me was the amount of milia I've developed since I started to use this product. I understand it may just be my skin with this particular product but this experience is enough to go back to my previous Clinique product and NOT recommend it.
Gooey, not dewey
I'm sorry, but I can't like Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream no matter how hard I try. It sits on top of my skin and doesn't absorb at all. It's akin to applying rubber cement to my face. I use mineral powder foundation, and it causes my foundation to collect in some areas of my face, leaving me "splotchy." It leaves me feeling very sticky and gooey instead of dewy. I have not seen any improvement in the condition of my skin since I began using it. Also, it clogs the pores in my skin and gives me blackheads - at age 52! I haven't had blackheads since I was in my teens. Happily, I've almost emptied the jar. I'm sorry, I tried. I really tried.
