Physicians Formula Butter Believe It! Eyeshadow Palette 2-stars Reviews
I'll finish my current
I'll finish my current one, but I wouldn't repurchase, as I have a lot of complaints. It does its job, but with quite a few drawbacks. First of all, it is very loosely pressed, so a lot of product comes off when you apply it with a brush. Also, it is a little orange for my skin. While it's not to noticeable when it's on, if you overdo it, it gives a bad-spray-tan look. Additionally, the smell is very strong. It's not really a bad smell, but it's not pleasant either. My final complaint is that the packaging is really clunky. Personally, I would prefer a smaller compact that doesn't have a mirror or an applicator.
The design is atrocious
Love Physicans Formula "Fake out" and "Lash Boosting" mascaras (the ones that look like a leaf). Came here to write glowing reviews for those and a not-so-glowing one for this. I'm excited to see PF develop new formulas because it is the ONLY advertised hypoallergenic company that truly doesn't irritate my eyes. My eyes are white and clear all day and don't itch like with all other brands-- even the ones advertised as "all-natural." This new formulation is pretty bad. You pull out the applicator and even just after a few uses, it's like the mascara can't remove excess mascara so the entire applicator is just one big clump. It's unusable after about a week. The product itself is pretty dramatic, which is why I gave 2 stars. I even tried pushing the excess mascara that comes out back into the bottle, but it doesn't really work. Not really sure what went wrong here. PF does a wonderful job with this on their other mascaras where it doesn't clump at all. I thought maybe I had bought a dud so I purchased a different one and it does the same thing. Disappointing, but not that big of a deal. I'll just continue to purchase the "Fake Out" or "Lash Boosting" ones.
I really wanted to
I really wanted to love this product. its super smooth and buttery, I enjoy the smell a lot, and it is a very nice shade. however I believe this product breaks me out overnight. every time I would put this bronzer on, I would have perfectly clear skin, and then after wearing it all day, I would wake up the next morning with several pimples. I thought it might be the foundation I was wearing, but I switched my foundation and it made no difference. As nice as this looks, I unfortunately cannot use it.
I really wanted to love it
I bought this after reading the gibs of rave reviews. I loved how it applied and looked on my skin. The color was perfect; not too orange, not too shadowy. It's staying power was great through the day. HOWEVER...
About a week after starting to wear it, I experienced the worst acne I've ever had in my life. When I first started using the butter bronzer, my skin had been issue-free for years. Not a blemish or pore to be seen. I was loving my complexion. Nothing in my beauty routine changed except for this bronzer, and it ended up causing deep, painful, cystic acne in the areas I had used it. As soon as I stopped use, most of the acne cleared up, but it threw my skin so far off that rebalancing my skin's chemistry took more time than I would have hoped.
Photo of color is wayyyyy off...
Product quality and formula seems nice, but color representation is radically off. The 'natural glow' is represented in the online photo as a neutral, but decidely pinkish, color, but in reality this blush is literally the color of a medium neutral foundation without even a hint of pink, i.e. it's pointless to add an additional layer of makeup when it's essentially the color of foundation. (To put it another way, this so-called blush could literally be marketed as a dewy, slightly glowing, powder foundation without them even having to change the color... THAT'S how much it looks like foundation/powder and NOT blush =o ;)
Disappointed
I have this blush in the Vintage Rouge in a mini that I was gifted. I absolutely love this mini blush, one of my absolute favorites, the color is bright and beautiful and it stays on forever! I was so excited when I saw it was part of the Spring Haul and immediately bought 2 of the same color, Vintage Rouge. I was excited for it to be shipped to me and kept checking the shipping details everyday and finally when I got it, I was devastated. It is not AT ALL the same color. I don't know what happened but the color I got looks like a bronzer more than anything. It's a light brown that doesn't even show up on my skin. I'm utterly and completely disappointed. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 just because I do love my little mini and their bronzer. But I'm returning this product.
So I got this butter...
So I got this butter bronzer because I heard it was all the hype and then some. I'm. Hardcore HOOLA bronzer Stan okay. I was not impressed at all and couldn't understand why everyone online loved this! To me it didn't smell good like I had read it didn't have a vacation scent at all but most importantly when I wore this bronzer I felt that it was very flat and not really blendable if that makes sense. Yes it's matte but I dunno maybe it was the shade I felt it was orange-y and I'm not about that life. So it's a no from me dawg.
I really tried to love...
I really tried to love this product but it didn't hit the mark for me. First off the smell is actually atrocious... I like coconut which is why when I read reviews that it would have a scent I thought I would be able to handle it but I was wrong. This does not smell like a pleasant coconut this smells like a coconut that probably has been rotting in the sun for 5 days... it's that bad. Also the formula is super muddy and the color is orangey. Overall I had a terrible experience with this. The only thing I ended up using it for was sometimes to a Smokey eye and that was it. Eventually I just threw it out.
Causes cystic acne
It pains me to give this product a negative review because I absolutely love the formula and the color.. Yet, nothing is worth the months of cystic acne I was dealing with due to this product. I found this bronzer from YouTube recommendations and instantly fell in love. I was using this product every single day. I began to develop the worst acne I have had in my entire life, worse than when I was in middle school or high school. The acne was all over my jaw line, my neck, my chest, hairline and cheeks, every area that this bronzer touches; but I hadn't relized this product was the culprit at the time. I continued to use it for months struggling with my acne and thinking it was all hormonal. One night after washing my face before bed it just occurred to me that maybe I should look up reviews to see if others had this problem and sure enough, they did. 2 days of not using this bronzer and my skin is already clearing up. Like I said, the formula is fantastic and I love the way it looks but if you start noticing breakouts, it is not a coincidence.
Smells delicious - but did not work for my skin
I bought this bronzer because I was looking for an affordable bronzer and had heard great things about this one from many different sources. I was looking for a bronzer that was not orange, would give a pretty sunkissed glow, and would not cause breakouts. Unfortunately, it did not work for me, but it may work if you have drier skin and you apply the product sparingly.
The first thing I noticed when I applied the bronzer was the very strong, coconut/pineapple smell. I feel like you would either love or strongly dislike the smell. Personally, I really enjoy the smell, it is very summer-y, but if you prefer your products to be fragrance-free you will not like this!
When I first applied this bronzer (with a blush brush) I loved the way it warmed up my skin and I liked the pretty subtle glowy sheen it gave my cheeks. It looked very smooth and gave a healthy, natural-looking color. I loved it so much that I reapplied it again in the afternoon to build up the color - which is a mistake, because less is definitely more with this bronzer. In the evening when I looked in the mirror again, I thought it looked pretty orange and the pretty glow that I liked initially, later ended up making my face look more oily than it was already (I have fairly oily skin).
I also noticed after a few days of use that I had little red bumps on my face, which are not horrible since they were pretty tiny but obviously I would rather not have red bumps so I stopped using the bronzer on my face and have instead been using it as an eyeshadow. I'm 99% sure the breakout was due to the bronzer, since I broke out only in the places where I applied the bronzer and I changed nothing else in my makeup/skincare routine. I think it was probably due to the rich butters that are in the bronzer that make it so creamy, but unfortunately don't agree with my oily/sensitive/acne-prone skin.
I think it looks beautiful as an eyeshadow, so I will continue to use it for that purpose. Hope this was helpful!
Not the same anymore
This blush in Plum Rose was my HG for soooo long! I finally finished it off (which has never happens to me with any powder product, thats how much I loved this), so I repurchased. The shade is now completely different, lighter and slightly sparkly?? It looks like nothing on my skin, and I am really pale. I was so confused I even went to the store and looked at them all, thinking maybe they put the wrong shade in the compact, but no, they're all this new color. TERRIBLE!! So now I have to find another brand that has this shade...
I dont really care for it
Well the first thing I didnt really care for in this is the smell. I personally just dont like it, but I think some people would. It has a buttery suntan lotion smell to me
Iam very light skinned with cool undertones, and it barely showed up on me. I didnt pick the lightest bronzer either. It just feels like a dirty look on my skin tone.
I bought this on sale because it was so recommended and idk the formula was fine but i didnt look bronzed, passing on this product, but might be nice for others
seperated within a couple hours
In the search for a new bronze, i spent hours on searching for an affordable bronzer with great reviews... Hence why i bought this product. Note: I have combination skin and live in humid Fl. Even though i would recommend to a friend, i just felt on my skin this product would separate within an hour or two. It looked super patchy and if i accidentally touched my face in the slightest way it would move or come of completely even though i set the product with setting spray. However, I did layer it multiple times and found that it lasted a couple more hours before separating. I like a natural look, with fast and easy application which unfortunately this product didn't do for me.
Not for me
I saw so many great reviews but when I bought Natural Glow after hearing it was a great fair skin option, I discovered it had no color. I am very fair and for a blush to not show up on my skin was something I've never experienced. I tried to build it up but I just ended up with a messy sheen on my face. I am so disappointed and just do not understand how so many people with light and medium skintones love these. What are they actually seeing when they apply it?? I'll be sticking with Tarte, Clinique, Nars and Flower Beauty for blush.
Not a blush- More of a highlighter
I was so so excited to try this! I LOVE the butter bronzers and was ready to move on to their blushes. I was so hesitant to buy at first because I was looking for a "dupe" version of another blush I liked and this was cheaper and I usually like PF. Once I finally got it on I couldn't even tell I even put anything on! To be completely honest Its almost like it LIGHTENED that area of my face!! It has a very pretty shimmer to it which is why now I use it as more of a highlighter, but to call this a blush is a very misleading! I reeeeally wanted to love this but it just ended up making my makeup routine worse trying to fix what it did. I still love the butter bronzers!!
Not sure how I feel about it
I bought this instead of buying my usual bronzer from Guerlain, hoping to find a good budget-friendly bronzer. While I like the texture and how smooth the formula is, I couldn't get over the fragrance. It's not a horrible smell, and I'm not sensitive to scented products, but at times it can be overwhelming. It's a coconut-beachy smell but slightly artificial smelling. It might have caused some breakouts on my left cheek but not sure if it was the bronzer or the new blush I got.
In terms of color, it's not as natural as I hoped it'd be and can apply patchy if my skin is not powdered/set well. I bought it a while ago, and now just ordered another bronzer from Clinique as a replacement.
Loved it at first, then I started breaking out
I really liked this bronzer at first! It was light enough that it still looked natural on my very fair skin. After a few uses I noticed that I was getting breakouts along my cheek, only where I put the bronzer. My skin isn't normally so sensitive. I stopped using it for a week to see if my skin would clear up, and it did. I loved it so much I started wearing it again, hoping it was juIst a fluke. Nope :( I broke out worse than before. I wouldn't recommend this to people with sensitive skin, or anyone prone to breakouts.
I use this as a natural highlighter
This is advertised as a blush, but doesn't have any blush coloring at all and it has a lot of shimmer. I personally do not like a shimmery blush. I however, love love love to use this as a natural highlighter and basically all over my shoulders and collar bone during the summer. I grab this all the time when I have minimal makeup on and my regular highlighters would be too much. So if you want a pretty natural highlight yes buy. But not if you want a blush. Also, like the bronzer, it smells amazing.
Nice Bronzer, Strong Smell
Been looking for a bronzer that wears well and adds a healthy glow to my skin. This product is it. But, it has a very strong odor that lasts a long time. The first time I used it, I attended a charity fundraiser where I overheard 2 women comment that they smelled something that reminded them of Coppertone tanning lotion. I was embarrassed. I returned the bronzer to the store where I purchased it. This is a really nice product, but does it have to smell so strong? Even after washing my makeup brush, the odor is still present.
break outs + no shades
Bought this product over the hype and great reviews I saw online and on Youtube. If you have anything deeper than a light skin tone, the darkest shade will be too light for you. I have a light-medium skin tone and it doesn't show up much at all.
I will say that the finish is pretty and it doesn't cake even when you build it up.
However, this product caused me to BREAK OUT EVERYWHERE that I put it--under my cheekbones, my temples, jawline, and hairline. A review before me mentioned its pore-clogging ingredients. Do not buy this product unless you have pale bulletproof skin.
