Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Airbrushing Pressed Powder SPF 30 4-stars Reviews
SPF
This product is advertised on multiple sites (not just Ulta) for being SPF30.
But the packaging does not advertise anywhere about sun protection and neither does the physicians formula website.
However, the powder lists two sunscreens in its ingredients- zinc oxide (second ingredient) and titanium dioxide (last ingredient).
It is suspicious.
I end up using a face suncreen face spray then use this powder on top.
+Good for oily skin
-Needs more shades
-Terrible brush
Shade: beige
This product is exactly what I was looking for: a pressed powder that's talc-free and has SPF. I don't typically wear foundation so I was looking for something to apply lightly over moisturizer or SPF to get rid of shine while adding extra sun protection.
I was unsure if the translucent or creamy natural shades would fit me, so I searched for swatches and found that it comes in a third shade currently not sold at Ulta, which is beige. Based on swatches and reviews, translucent would definitely be too fair for me. Of the slightly darker shades, creamy natural has pink undertones while beige has neutral/olive undertones. Beige matches me perfectly. For reference, I have light-medium East Asian skin with olive undertones.
After reading reviews about the brush (lots of fallout and uneven, inefficient application), I didn't even bother with it and used a cosmetic sponge instead. This worked great. It has buildable coverage, though naturally the more layers you use the more likely you'll look cakey. With one layer pressed on gently with the sponge plus going over some smaller areas a second time, the finish was great. Got rid of the shine like I'd hoped without being too intensely mattifying and drying. Blush and highlight applied nicely over top as well. Fragrance in cosmetics is something I avoid, but I find the scent of this product to be mild. I can only smell it straight from the pan up close, not while applying at all. Also, it didn't oxidize on me after applying, but I haven't worn it for a full day yet, so I can't comment on how it stands up over time with sweat or oil build up. I checked my skin in sunlight and took photos with flash on and did not see any white cast or flashback.
If you are light-medium to medium with warm undertones, consider looking elsewhere for this in beige! However, even with this third color, I consider the shade range of this product to be abysmal. I got lucky having one of them match so well. Sometimes I feel like brands forget that darker skin tones exist and need sun protection too. I really hate when brands cater to such a narrow range of the population.
Lastly I want to mention that powder sunscreens aren't really reliable for full coverage sun protection. That's not a fault specific to this product, just the nature of powder SPF in general. Whether that matters to you depends on your sun protection needs. Personally, I would not use this alone for prolonged direct sun exposure.
Physicians Formula Mineral Wear
Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Airbrushing Pressed Powder SPF 30 - Translucent I bought this as a way to easily reapply my spf on top of my normal sunscreen. It's a nice way to mattify your sunscreen if it's too dewy. The beige color is nice since I have light skin and I do use self tanner, so the hint of color is very subtle and healthy. Only downfall is the awful brush it comes with. It doesn't grab anything and makes too much loose powder and very messy if you want to use the mirror. I suggest using a Korean air puff cushion, it'll grab more product for an even application.
I like the way
I like the way this powder evens out my skin and doesn't make me look like a painted wax doll. A few powders and foundations have left me wiping my face off, trying to get the fake look to go away. This one is not that. The brush that comes with it is awesome as well. Not the typical sponge that most powders come with. I would buy again but will use caution to not drop it. My last one I dropped and it crumbled into a million pieces, making it hard to use in its original container.
Let me start by
Let me start by saying I have really allergenic skin and almost everything breaks me out. However this I have had no problems with and comes in a cute little compact and underneath the powder is a little compartment with a small brush and mirror . The only problem I have with this is the bristles are Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Airbrushing Pressed Powder SPF 30 - Translucent hard and when you put it in to the powder it loosens it up and flings it around a little and to use the mirror you have to open and close the compartment but as far as the product itself I really like it . Great coverage and last for hours .
Man it's been SO
Man it's been SO long since I used these but I remember them working fairly well for me and not oxidizing or anything. I have combo oily skin and this definitely had a more hydrating powder feel. I think this could work with dry skin with a light hand. I prefer cleaner products now but if I didn't I would go back to this. Very natural skin like finish, they could improve shade range in the brand as a whole, specifically for deeper skin tones.
I absolutely love the
I absolutely love the coverage that this product gives. It nearly gives the airbrushed look, but if you are not mindful and go heavy handed, it might look caky. The packaging is decent. It lasts for really long for me. I just have that they had some colour range because even Translucent shade has a tint which might not be great for certain skintone.
Works great for me, but it's not for everyone
Okay, so the first thing to know is that this is NOT a translucent powder. I have moderately fair skin, so this is a good match for my tone. I find that it wears more like a pressed powder—it evens out my skin tone with light-medium coverage, and it really stands up to redness (blemishes, acne scars, mild rosacea). It feels very light on the skin, and does not exacerbate my oiliness or cause breakouts. And I just love that this has SPF! My preference is to use this throughout the day to touch up and add sun protection when my regular sunscreen has worn off. It really is a bargain!
But please, please pay attention to the pigment, here. I think this would look very orange on pale skin tones, or far too light for darker skin tones. Again, this is NOT translucent!
One of my go-to
One of my go-to drugstore finishing powders. It's not holy grail for me by any means. For that, I'd direct you to the higher-end Jouer Soft Focus Hydrate + Set Powder. However, this one has its benefits. I love that it has SPF 30. That makes it great for touch-ups. It's also lightweight and doesn't cause me any breakouts. For the price, it's a nice finishing powder that does leave an airbrushed effect.
I remember when I had...
I remember when I had awful acne scarring, this was the highest coverage powder that I could find. And for the best price, too. Love that it has SPF, and the compact makes it easy to throw in your bag and go. Only con is that it made my skin slightly dry, so I always made sure to use a hydrating primer or moisturizer underneath. It helped with that. Works amazingly with a kabuki brush. I also used a sponge too, if I wanted more natural/light to medium coverage.
Love love love...
Love love love physicians formula mineral wear!!! The feel of it is amazing its very light on the skin. Makes my skin feel soft and look healthy. Goes on so well to. I recommend to everyone! Its one of my "must have"!!!! All their products that I've tried has been great. Lowest I would rate them is a 3 and that was because they didn't have my shade.
I just purchased this...
I just purchased this SPF 30 pressed powder for the summer ☀️ and so far, so good! I use this powder to set my undereye concealer and it works great. I use the [product:elf-cosmetics-small-tapered-brush] with this powder and it gives a nice airbrushed finish. This pressed powder goes on smooth. Since it's a pressed powder it is wonderful for on the go. It doesn't feel cakey but rather, lightweight and natural. I have not used the applicator that came with this powder but it's a nice idea for on the go especially in the summer months. I also really like the hidden mirror. I purchased the shade, Translucent, which I will note has a slight pinkish undertone. Also - a little product goes a long way so keep in mind when you are applying.
In love ...
In love #PhysiciansFormula products for my super sensitive skin. This #AirBrushingPowder works perfect whether it's used dry or wet..it goes on without an awful caked look. At 61 my skin is starting to show signs of aging but Physicians Formula is super for all skin types. I would definitely recommend this product.
Amazing sun protection
I used this as my primary sunblock for 2 weeks under the Thai sun. I am extremely pale and did not even tan. Wonderful product. Since it is a powder, it is easy to reapply throughout the day.
The only thing keeping from a 5 star is that the fair color is still rather dark and too yellow for porcelain skin. I would buy one for every car, purse, and backpack I own if they came in a lighter color.
[product:physicians...
[product:physicians-formula-mineral-wear-talc-free-mineral-airbrushing-pressed-powder-spf-30] is fantastic facial powder that gives you a flawless matte finish. A natural translucent powder. It could use a prettier compact. It has an added SPF 30 sun protection. This is a great powder for a great matte finish.
i used to like this...
i used to like this powder a little more than i do now because i find that it used to not look powdery at all. now when i wear it i can tell that there's powder on my face but it's still definitely minimal. i love using this all over my face so that my bronzer blush and highlight blend easily over it. i would recommend you at least try this out.
I want to give it 5...
I want to give it 5 stars, but I can only use it for specific things. This powder is VERY full coverage. It is easy to overdo it, and that will look really bad. I would never put this on my whole face. I use it with a small brush to cover certain areas before I finish with an all over face powder. Like under the eyes and blemishes. It has amazing coverage. And it stays put! You could use this instead of concealer. I use it on really bad skin days, no one will ever know you are breaking out like a teenager. The coverage on this is 10 out of 10.
Powders are hard to...
Powders are hard to review in my opinion, especially pressed powders. For example, when a pressed powder looks like its your shade you never know if its going to be darker or lighter than what you expect. They also are designed for specific use most of the time or they don't work well with most foundations. This one however seems to work great with any foundation i have used so far. The shade i chose seems to be pretty spot on with my skin tone. It doesn't oxidize to be darker or lighter like i mentioned previously. I have pretty dry skin most of the time and this seems to keep that moisture barrier intact, i also like that it gives your skin some radiance to it. I also want to point out that it does have SPF in it, so it does seem to have a little flashback on my face from what i noticed using it. One more thing i would like the point out, the the shade range that's offered isn't very inclusive with this specific powder.
I needed an affordable...
I needed an affordable setting powder that had spf in it. When I saw that a drugstore brand had one I picked it up right away. Underneath the powder there's a compact mirror and small brush. If never blended well enough it'll look grainy on the skin, other than that I recommend it. [product:physicians-formula-mineral-wear-talc-free-mineral-airbrushing-pressed-powder-spf-30] #pressedpowder
Nice but needs careful application
This can look very nice if you apply carefully otherwise it is very easy to overdo and make it cakey. The powder is super soft so it can be a bit messy in the compact and applying too much is easy to do. That being said once blended in and/or if you melt it in with a setting spray the finish is quite beautiful and lasts all day. Nice satin finish.
