Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Eyeshadow Palette 3-stars Reviews
This palette is okay
This palette is okay and I do like the texture of the shades. The shimmers show up beautifully if applied with a finger, but other than that, I'm really missing pigmentation and blendability. The pigmentation can be built up, but that results in muddy colors when blending.
Could be better
I had tried the shadows in the huge Butter Box a while ago and liked them, so I ordered this palette. For whatever reason, although some shadows were pretty good, none of them were stellar and I just don't think it was worth almost $20. This is a $12 palette at best. Blending was really difficult for some shades and the shadows were difficult to control/place with regular shadow brushes.
I loved the colors so...
I loved the colors so I bought and tried both palettes. They start out nice, but pack down very quickly so that it's really difficult to use a brush. Lots of fallout, but does blend fairly well. I think this formula is best suited for applying with your fingers, which is messy. I don't really recommend this product, but it's not terrible.
Inconsistant
Most of the shades are really quite nice but the butter ones don't even work. Can hardly pull the pigment onto my fingers or a brush because of the formula and there's no colour pay off on the lid with those...I continue to use the other shades but the creamy shimmer and olive green in the sultry nights with that 'unique' texture are unusable.
Good but not great
I love the idea of butter eyeshadows but sadly the formula is very inconsistent. The colors are gorgeous but not all are easy to work with. If you have patience get this. I still use mine so much because I don't mind having patience with the shadows but I think the formulas could be better
Not bad in a pinch but...
Not bad in a pinch but the colors are not very pigmented. The sparkly colors are the best I think... you can use the more nude/orange shades with the dark brown and white to create some decent natural looking looks.
I was so excited about...
I was so excited about these pallets I ordered both right away! I love the Butter Bronzers. The colors are beautiful. But the shimmers I could barely get any color, I even rubbed the top layer off. The mattes go on pretty well. I just don't love these like I had hoped.
OKAY SO the coconut-y...
OKAY SO the coconut-y scent is not my favorite, but thankfully it doesn't last long. That being said, the matte shades in this palette are lovely. The browns/neutrals are very nicely pigmented, and blend beautifully. The shimmers, on the other hand, are a little difficult to apply? I've tried my fingers, a brush, and the sponge applicator that's included in the palette, and they just...don't do it. The purple, and the blue, also take a lot of effort, and do not look as nice as you'd hope.
I absolutely love the...
I absolutely love the colors but the fall out and chunkieness of it is ridiculous. I have only used it once and haven't even wanted to play with the colors.. it breaks apart so bad that just after one use the pan is broken and half of it has fallen. Out
This palette is...
This palette is stunning and I have always loved how creamy Physicians Formula products are, like the butter bronzer, highlighter, and blush. But, these shades are not the easiest to work with. Some of the shades are pigmented but can do difficult to blend out. And others, once you get it somewhat blended out, the shade just looks muddy and/or patchy. There is a lot of kickback also with this palette, which usually, I don't mind but this palette didn't perform well at all, in my opinion. Overall, it's not a complete dud, but it's also not a winner.
It's okay, but not great
Since I love their Butter highlighters, I decided to try out their Butter Eyeshadow in Tropical Days. I was impressed with how pretty the shades were and some were easy for me to work with, but others were patchy when I blended it out, even after I used a wet brush and my finger when I thought it would've evened things out
Was so excited to try this, But...
I have been using the butter bronzer for years and its my absolute favorite, so when I saw Physicians Formula was coming out with shadows in the same formula I had to have it. I expected it to have the same exact scent as the bronzer, but it smells nothing like it. Some of the shades blend out beautifully, other like the darker shades are patchy, and some don't pick up with a brush at all. There is a lot of kick back with these shadows which I usually don't really mind as long as they perform well, but I wasn't impressed with this palette. For the price I was expecting better quality, and it not being scented was a total let down.
Not the best, not the worst
Sultry Nights
•Pros:
- Hypoallergenic
- Cruelty-free
- Cohesive color story
- Some vibrant shades
- Sturdy packaging
•Cons:
- Varying pigmentation
- Slightly difficult blendability (some shades will not work with a brush & are patchy even with a finger or wet brush)
- Upon inner-corner application, it irritated my skin & eyes (lids were okay)
- Fragrance (I'm one of those who doesn't like most added fragrance in their beauty products)
• Bottom line: I give this a B. It's not a fail, there are quite a few nice shades and I enjoyed all the looks I made with it, but I personally wouldn't buy it again.
