Redken Forceful 23 Super Strength Hairspray

I wouldn't buy again

I have very fine hair but a lot of it. This spray does not hold my hair in place. It smells nice enough and my hair is soft after using the spray. I just wish it held better. I've used the 28 before and that seems to work better for my fine hair.

I usually love redkens products. But this product is awful for your hair. Maybe my hair didn't react well to it but I used it a week ago on my curls, in which this thing barely held up. I used a clarifying shampoo after to wash it out completely. Then again shampooed with regular shampoo. Used a hair mask. My hair is still soo incredibly dry. So much hair came out and it felt way thinner than before. Don't buy this if you already suffer from thinning, dry hair. Awful stuff. Returning.

Super strength??

I read the reviews (mostly positive) and the description which said this stuff would hold up in any element, but it didn't even hold my style till lunch. I used it to hold my curtain bangs in place and they fell flat by 9:30. :(

Will be exchanging for another brand.

My favorite

I love this product but loved it even more when it was in the silver can. I wish you would bring that back. For some reason, it smelled so much better and held a lot better as well. That's the only reason that I am giving it 4 stars as opposed to 5 stars.

Buy this product and you won't go back to anything else!

I love this hairspray it's my favorite never tried one like this before I use to use Sebastian As my old costly staple I've changed now the minute I used this product I knew I have to keep this on hand even if it's for special occasions it's too good even when you smell it as well just awesome product recommend completely!

Redken's number system confuses me

The Redken number system is confusing to me. I got the hairspray that's one step up from this one and it was an EXTREMELY strong hold. So then I ordered and got this one and it's not a strong hold at all. There's no number in the middle of the two I have so I don't understand why it's so drastically different.

Weak and Smelly

Despite its name, this hairspray does not offer "super strength" hold, and it has a cloying fragrance. Smell before you buy this hairspray and its "irresistible" old lady fragrance that is entirely resistible.

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. It smells terrible, has absolutely no holding power like it claims, and feels like it sprays out more aerosol than product! Sprayed it once on my hair and returned it that same day. Don't waste your money! There are drugstore brands I've used that are far more effective than this hairspray.

Super flexible daily hairspray

My straight hair gets permed every 3 mos, and is thinning on top. This spray was first given to me by my stylist and I've used it ever since - over a year now. It's light but holds well, and doesn't build up in my hair if I brush my hair each night.

I felt like Goldilocks!

I first tried the Control Addict 28, it was too strong. Then tried the #18, that didn't hold my hair at all. Finally i tried this one #23 at it worked great! See, what i meant by feeling like Goldilocks? ;)
