This stuff is awesome
My stylist turned me on to this. You only need a VERY small amount. We're talking less than a pea sized amount, rub between your hands, and apply directly to roots. I have fine hair and this does not weight it down. It is not meant to be used in lieu of dry shampoo, but to give the texture that a dry shampoo leaves behind. Nice thing is you can tussle your hair at the root to reactivate if you need to refresh your volume.
Not the best
This product was heavy and gritty feeling. After a couple of hours hair felt and looked greasy and I felt as if I needed to wash my hair.
Love this product!
I have short hair, and I feel like this product is probably not suited to longer styles. Best when applied to damp hair. You do have to work it up in your palm a bit to get it ready to apply. Once it's soft, just apply to your roots, shape, and brush through. Holds my style in place and it doesn't even look like I am wearing any product at all! Love it!!
Works perfectly when applied right!
It's funny how some people like or dislike a product. I really like this grainy paste but it's also how I use it. My hairdresser introduced me to it because I don't like to shampoo my hair with every shower. You take a small chunk and rub it between your palms to warm it. Then starting close to your scalp you spread your fingers in your hair and work the product up from the roots through the hair, distributing the product to clean where most of your scalp oil is. Then kind of pull and move your hair around to style. For me, with a short, choppy haircut it works great.i have the small jar for travel and the larger one for home. Other days I use their NO BLOW DRY hair creams.
Not good as a hair paste OR a dry shampoo
I got a trial size of this in a package of other things. I threw it out after trying it a couple of times. It says on the package that is it is a styling paste, but it is too dry and crumbly to hold any hair in place. It also says it is a dry shampoo, but it is too thick and heavy to work well as a dry shampoo. In trying to be two things, it succeeds at neither one.
Like putting clay with salt in your hair
I don't like spray dry shampoos. Like pantene dry shampoo foam, and LOVED TRESemme fresh start waterless foam shampoo (so sad it's discontinued). The foam does not leave your hair looking like you dumped talc on it, so I thought this might be good. Worst product ever! It was like putting a salt scrub in my hair. You can feel the grit and instead of it making you hair cleaner it looks greasy and feels gritty.
