Redken Travel Size Quick Blowout Heat Protecting Spray

The pillow proof blow dry primer spray was SO much better than this. This new version or formulation that has replaced it leaves my hair filmy, dry looking, flat, and greasy looking by the second day. I don't spray this on my roots but my hair still feels gross the next day. The pillow proof was amazing, loved what it did for my hair, it was light and bouncy and looked like I had a blowout in a salon while being able to get multiple days between washes. I will not be purchasing this again. BRING BACK PILLOW PROOF.

Left hair in tangles and limp.

I was super excited to try this out. I really liked the smell (I love sweet smelling products) and it cut drying time by a few minutes. Unfortunately it caused small tangles and knots to form in my hair that I had to cut out. I used it for several days and then switched to another product to see if it was this that was causing the knots. Unfortunately it was. When I switched to something different, I had no issues with the knots and little tangles in my hair. Unfortunately it left my hair limp and lifeless. Would not recommend.

It works..

I used to use the pillow proof heat protectant and I like that one better, tbh. This one works, it does it's job in protecting it from heat, and lessening the blow dry time. But if you're sensitive to smell like I am, it's not for you. I've tried to give it a shot multiple times but every time I get a headache from the smell even after blow dried, the smell stays. It's not a bad smell per say, just very very fragrant and perfume-y. If you don't mind smell, then sure it's a great spray. But for me and my sensitivities, it's gonna have to be returned :(

Hydration

This exceeded my expectations. It was very lightweight but my hair did not feel dry or bogged down after using. It smells great, it definitely did a great job at protecting my hair from my blow dryer which admittedly in the past, other products have not been able to do and my hair ends up more dried and fried more than anything. I like how this products essentially made my hair feel like it was revitalized. I know this won't resonate with everyone as each person has their own hair type and texture but through my own personal journey, this is a product that I would implement in hair care routine. Ironically, I'm almost out of the products so chances are, that I will need to buy some more. I had a great experience with their products.

This stuff rocks!

I was so thankful to receive this in a Voxbox when I did, because I just had neck surgery and blow drying my hair completely dry was impossible. My arms and neck would always be hurting so much, that I could barely get the roots of my hair and bangs blow dried before I would settle with letting my hair air dry. This spray works so good, that I was able to have my hair 100% rough dried in under 5 minutes!! My hair is midway down my back in length too! The spray didn't leave my hair greasy, flat, or crunchy. I will continue to use this!

Reduced drying time

I dry my hair often but I rarely straighten my hair. I tried this product in the process of straightening my hair. I have very curly hair and this product helped with the styling and reduced the drying time. Normally my hair takes an hour or so to dry with a hairdryer but this helped reduce the drying time. The smell was light and citrus but wasn't over all too strong. Many times straightening my hair dries it out but this seemed to do a good job of protecting my hair. I would recommend this product again.

don't use too much!

I was so excited when I received Redken's Quick Blowout. I have been looking for a good blowout product that had all my needs wrapped into one. This made my hair blow dry really fast I was done within 5 minutes. It reduced some of the crazy frizz I usually get after blow drying and added an overall more smoothing look. I didn't have to spend much time at all flat ironing my ends thanks to this. It's also a great heat protectant and that is also a must for me and my platinum blonde hair. I like the scent it's a little floral and sweet smelling to me. When I used it the first time I clearly put way too much in my hair and it made my hair crunchy. I would recommend less is more. Don't use as much as you think you need and you can always add more later. I tried using alone and then paired it with Redken's Big Blowout Jelly.

Very strong vanilla smell.

I'm still not entirely sure how I got this box because I don't blow dry my hair, but I did for this box. First off this product worked great! It kept my hair silky smooth and my dry time was quicker. I noticed immediately after spraying it there was a STRONG scent of vanilla. Now if you don't like that scent don't even waste your money because not only did it come out that strong it stayed in my hair for several days. I know that sounds gross, but I have colored hair and wash about every 2-3 days. I didn't mind the scent and after a day or 2 the scent wasn't as strong. Overall I was happy with this product.

Verdict is still out

Pros: This product smells delicious, did reduce my dry time, & didn't leave my hair feeling sticky or frizzy as others have mentioned. It felt smooth & shiny (although I do understand where some said their hair felt more "coarse" after applying, that's good for me because my hair is fine). I preferred this spray to the "big blowout" which I did feel left a stickiness or residue on the hair (maybe I used too much).

Cons: The packaging is fine, but seems low-end / drugstore looking for the price. There's another Eva-NYC product I like that has similar effect on my hair & is a lower price, plus has better picking, IMO. I'd buy that over this.

I wish I had more time to try this before my review is due because I don't blow dry my hair often. In my pics I hadn't had a haircut in 2 years. Now I have a new cut & style & think this product is working better for me, but haven't had time to try it a 2nd time with the new hair to get pics or leave a better review.
