Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream 2-stars Reviews
Nope
Now, their regular wrinkle cream is great, this not so much. I have overall oily skin with a bit of wrinkles and under eye slight dryness since covid and general aging (I'm 51). I used this once, and just a tiny bit (the amount that gets on the inside of the lid since I waste nothing). Scent is great, but...it it is VERY greasy, lays on top of my skin, never really absorbed and stayed shiny literally until this AM (as I write this review). I woke up to crusty flakes (color of the cream) and irritated eyes, something I've never experienced with any other product, I will be exchanging today. I used no other product on my face. BTW, the directions say to "massage," FYI, ANY massage in the eye area will reduce puffiness with added "lubricant". Definitely for the very dryer skin...
Moisturizing but Milia Forming
I adore Shiseido. However, this eye cream gives me milia. Tiny white blocked pores under eyes and a few on my actual lids. I do not ever have issues with milia and in my early 40s, had no idea what was happening to my skin. My dermatologist told me to discontinue all products and slowly add them back one at a time. The Benefiance line was the culprit for me. Both the face cream and the eye cream. They definitely moisturize but they also cause milia which is a deal breaker for me. It makes me sad because my family has used Shiseido for 70 years. I will try other products in their brand at some point.
Wished it worked for me
I really wanted to love this, but it's too heavy even for my combo skin. I did noticed some tiny bumps after applying this and a few hours after it fully absorbed, the bumps will diminish. I'm afraid if I continue to use this, I will end up with milia since the cream is so thick. However, I did noticed my wrinkles looked a lot smoother after just a few days. Unfortunately this will not work for me.
The first thing I...
The first thing I noticed about this product is the packaging. It comes in a glass jar with a spoon to help get product in a hygienic way. The non symmetrical oblong shape of the cap drives me nuts though. They've discovered a way to force all of us to keep this product on top because you physically cannot stack anything on top of it. The product is a light beige color that has a florally scent that I could pass on. It's a light weight cream that is honestly on the greasy side. It never sinks into the skin, just sits on top of it. I tried using less but it also doesn't spread very well. It claims to target 6 types of eye wrinkles. I tried it for 2 weeks every day on 1 eye and it looks pretty much the same as the other. It is maybe slightly less wrinkled. But not a life changing product at this price.
I received this cream...
I received this cream as a complimentary sample for my honest review. This eye cream is super rich and moisturizing, but it doesnt really ever sink into my skin. It just sits on top looking greasy. At this price point, my eye cream should feel good and look good on my skin, and this just doesnt. Ive used it under makeup with ok results (but I prime and set with powder), but I really just dont see how skincare that doesnt soak in is doing anything for me.
It does plump and...
It does plump and moisturize but it stays a bit sticky. While I dont believe it has helped my wrinkles it has helped the crepiness I have under my eyes. It also has lightened my hyperpigmentation around my eyes. I just think its too pricey and I know there are better ones out there for less. Ill use this until I run out but I wont be adding this to my regular skin routine.
sits quite heavy on...
sits quite heavy on the shin, oily/greasy even. Id recommend for the driest of skins. It doesnt absorb well and doesnt sit well under makeup. I would recommend using this in your pm routine only. Unless you like shines greasy eye bags. No visible changes to under eye as of yet. Received for free in voxbox
I didn't like...
I didn't like Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream, 0.51-oz. at all. A little goes a very long way, but it felt greasy/sticky going on and it never settled or soaked in. I tried it a few times and each time I would put it on at night and it would still be greasy and sitting on top of my skin when I got up in the morning. Its just not anything that I like in an eye cream.
Missing that wow factor
I love trying new skin care and I'm always looking for my next holy grail product. Sadly, this was not it. The eye cream does create a nice primer affect for applying concealer under my eyes and creating a smoother surface. However I did not see a reduction of fine lines around the eye area. It was a miss for me.
Its okay
I received a sample in exchange for my honest review. I have been using the eye cream for a few weeks now. A little bit does go a long way. It has a very pleasant scent. I did see a little improvement in fine lines but nothing else. I did dislike the fact that it doesn't absorb well. My skin around my eyes looked oily all day. I cut down on the amount and it still looked oily. Continued use may give me more results.
