Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream 3-stars Reviews
Great for hydration/Little goes a long way
I purchased this a year ago because I wanted to START using an eye cream. This is good for hydration because I noticed retinol was drying the skin around my eye, and this helped with dryness. I didn't see a difference with wrinkles…maybe because I didn't have enough wrinkles to notice it helped? 🤷♀️ and yes I used it every day for a year. Mostly at night.sometimes morning AND night
great result but is it good in the long run?
I have been using this eye cream for over ten years and had great results! Never worried about the ingredients until recently, as newer products get on market with cleaner ingredients. This product includes mineral oil, alcohol and parfum, which are big No Nos these days. Could the product manager tell me how much (%) of these ingredients are present in the product?
Meh. It's OK.
I bought this when it was half off. I don't think I will buy it again unless it is on sale. First off, I can only wear it at night because it has a very greasy feeling and stays shiny on my skin. It doesnt sink in as well as I would like. I use another eye cream for daytime under makeup. For those reasons it gets three stars.
about Eye Cream
I hope you can put the Benefiance WrinkleResist 24 intensive eye contour cream back to market. I had been using that one over twenty years. I love it very much. This one irritate my eye so I have to careful keep a interval from eye border when I apply it. I am worry about it is not full coverage my eye area.
Completed a full jar....
I used until gone before writing review. Yes it's a great moisturizer and has the best consistency which is on the thick side, loved that because it melted right into my skin. However although it may have slightly helped some crows feet it's not the holy grail and I don't think it's worth the hefty price tag. I wish I would have had better results I really wanted to love this because I'm tired of searching for that "one" that's going to cease my search......
Old formula was better.
I am almost done with new benefiance eye cream formula and I have not seen any improvement in my eye wrinkles. This new formula never absorbs into my skin it merely sits on top. I really miss the old benefiance wrinkle resist 24 eye cream . I saw results within a week and continued results throughout my use of the eye cream... onto finding a new eye cream.
Will not buy again!
This eye cream smelled really nice however in my opinion that's where my positive reviews ends! It felt too heavy even when I used just a tiny bit on my eyelids & on the skin below my eyes. A few moments afterwards applying it, it left a sticky residue. I resisted the urge to take it off thinking that the sticky residue would go away soon however later I found that I had a slight red rash on my eyelids & underneath the skin under my eyes.
Maybe the cream I brought was bad & expired because I've read lots of good reviews. I will definitely not buy again. I was even afraid to give it away for fear that someone else may get the same reaction as I did so I tossed it to be on the safe side.
Too shiny!
Hmmm. I want to like this. It smells good. I have just started using it so I cannot say how effective it is yet....but it's hard to wear. It is REALLY shiny. So shiny that I look like I'm shimmery every time I wear it. And that's not a positive. I am having a hard time covering it up. I don't wear a lot of makeup so I'm not sure how to not be so glistening. I am pretty disappointed as I was excited to try a Shiseido product. Planning to keep but will only wear to bed or if I am staying home and no one will see me. Not what I had in mind.
Too Sticky
Have been using this product for about 3 months now. While I have noticed the eye area is smoother, the cream is uncomfortably sticky all day. It has gotten worse with the warmer summer weather, even with smaller amounts applied during the day. Also leaves a shiny residue on top of my skin as it is the last thing applied in my routine. Would not recommend this as leaves my skin feeling heavy and oily all day. Hoping to find an eye cream that helps with wrinkles without suffocating the skin and leaving shiny residue behind.
Please make it fragrance free
I've recently found out how bad fragrance is for skin, especially the delicate eye area! I just don't get why such a science based brand would include fragrance in their products, especially in such a big concentration that it comes before ingredients like caffeine. So disappointed. Won't be repurchasing and will find a fragrance free alternative.

I was excited to receive this cream as a complimentary sample. I really liked/appreciated that it came with a spatula (I do not like having to dip my fingers into my skincare. The packaging is pretty/looks nice on vanity or shelf. I first applied this cream as part of my evening skincare routine. I noticed that it was a thick cream so I only used a small amount and applied to my orbital eye area. The next morning I noticed that my undereyes and lids looked greasy/shiny. I already struggle with oily lids, so that was disappointing. I can't wear this under makeup and will only use as part of my evening skincare routine.
I was really excited...
I was really excited to receive this product because I had never tried Shiseido before. It is definitely a very luxurious eye cream. The packaging is heavy and super fancy. The eye cream itself has no scent and is super thick and heavy. While I was happy to see the claims that it can be applied to more areas than just under the eyes and can help with the wrinkle between your eyebrows, this cream is far too heavy to wear during the day unless you plan to wear it under full makeup. It just doesnt every sink into the skin and remains tacky wherever you apply it. I found that I could only wear it before bed. But it did apply beautifully under makeup and helped when I had to apply and set under eye makeup so that my powder didnt make make the skin under my eyes look dry and crepey. Unfortunately, because it is so heavy, it clogs the pores under my eyes and gives me those weird tiny calcium deposit bumps. And I dont need any more texture under my eyes.
I really wanted to...
I really wanted to like this eye cream more, but it just didnt work for me. It was greasy on my skin and I could feel the creases forming Under my eyes. I the packaging and the little applicator it comes with, but if you dont keep the box, your applicator is just out in the open collecting dust and getting dirty so youll need to clean it before each use. The smell wasnt anything great either. If you have dryer skin, this should work better for you than it did for me.
Full disclosure: I'm 3...
Full disclosure: I'm 35 and do not have eye wrinkles. However, I do have "elevens" between my eyes. Shiseido states that this eye cream can be worn day and night and reduces the appearance of crows feet, fine lines under the eyes, and well as vertical wrinkles between the eyes. Unfortunately, with all of the great reviews I have seen, I didn't see any reduction in my vertical lines in that week, whatsoever. While the rest of my face is extremely dry, I have normal eyelids and undereyes. For me, this cream made them feel greasy and it never sunk in - even a full day later. Fine to wear at night. I did have trouble with keeping my makeup in place if I put it on over this. For that reason, I'd recommend using it only at night. It is super moisturizing so I gave it 3 stars, though I don't feel a huge need for a moisturizer around my eyes at this time. I will continue using this product at night to see if it just takes longer in those deeper wrinkles to show a difference and update my review as needed.
I received this product for free for testing purposes.
This is my first...
This is my first product review for a VoxBox product so I take it very seriously! Shiseido is a very high end, high quality company so I had similarly high expectations. The packaging is sleek, something that looks classy on your counter. Fragrance is very slight and totally inoffensive. Texture is light but highly emollient. It is very effective at moisturizing and smoothing lines. However, it does not absorb well. After applying with a light, circular tapping motion, I waited 10 minutes and it hadnt absorbed. I blotted with tissue but it still didnt fully absorb. Therefore when I went to bed, it migrated into my eyes which was not acceptable as it caused mild irritation. It also made using on my lids a problem as eye makeup did not go on smoothly. I received this product as a free sample.
I looked up the...
I looked up the product on beautypedia and Im surprised at how many bad things they had to say. Theres a lot of fragrance, which can be pro-aging in the long run. The jar packaging isnt hygienic and can make ingredients degrade faster. The jar is really pretty, thats one positive. I tried the eye cream and it made my under eye area look plump and dewy. It would probably be a good base for makeup. Shiseido Benefiance has some good aspects, but I dislike the unnecessary fragrance and jar packaging.
This products makes me go....hmmmm
A pricey jar of luscious, whipped creamy goodness, that is supposed to make your wrinkles...disappear!...or at least make them less visible. I sadly haven't seen any change and it's been over six weeks. I will use it until it's finished because 1) the price 2) the whipped cream hydrates well under my eyes. I feel like other skin care like injections, do a better job then creams. I also realize that creams do not work the same as injections. However, based on the reviews, I thought it would do more than it has. Maybe by the time I'm down to using the last drop in the corner, I will have noticed some changes. I want to love this!!! You never know until you try - am glad I at least tried it.
Sadly overpriced
I've used the Benefiance toner which I love. Unfortunately, the moisturizers in this line are too much for my oily skin. I'm only using this at night. Another pet peeve for me is that all the active ingredients are at the bottom of the ingredients list. :( At the top - petroleum jelly, glycerin and mineral oil). If you love Shiseido, have dry skin and can afford it, you may want to try this.
Smooth and soft
I started using this as soon as I got it. And the first two night I applied to much and was extremely oily in my opinion and it stays there. So then I applied less and it did work. Less is more. And a little goes a long way. But my problem is it's that the skin doesn't absorb it. And if your a bad sleeper you'll probably remove it. And it's sticky on my eye area. But I did like how soft it applies and smooth it is. And I had no reaction to it. So I'm ok with it. I've yet to see results but it's to soon.
Very Balmy After 6 Hours still
Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream kept my under eye area very moisturized over the course of the day. It was almost too hydrated. After 6 hours it was still very balmy to the touch. I only used about a pea sized amount of the product on each eye. For the next 6 weeks my plan is to cut back the amount to one pea size for both and see if the balmy feeling dissipates. I did see improvement in the size of the wrinkles under and near my eyes after foundation was applied and enjoyed that the fragrance was very light to non existent.
