Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Lotion SPF 50+ Sunscreen

No white cast, leaves a glow

I have been using this sunscreen on my face for about one year now. This sunscreen does not leave a white cast, and yes, it requires shaking, but I'm not sure how that's a negative thing. Just a quick shake and you're good to go. It is "greasy" when it first goes on, but it settles into the skin nicely and leaves me with more of a glow than a greasy look. I personally don't wear makeup on a daily basis, so this is my last step usually, but if I were to put makeup on, I would wait about 5 minutes after application to really let it settle into the skin prior to priming and makeup application.

One of the worst sunscreens for makeup lovers

Whoever is writing reviews that this suncreen is great is 100% lying and/or being paid to write those.

This sunscreen is so watery that it easily spills everywhere so when you do dispense it, you have to do it extremely carefully. You can also literally see it seperate when you dispense. This isnt a dud I received, this is just how awful this product is. And I dont ever complain about scents in products but what in the world did they put into it that attracts people to it because the smell alone is ungodly. Lastly, GOOD LUCK putting primer, foundation, blush or literally anything that's considered makeup on over this sunscreen because it will literally melt off or separate in real time.

Please dont believe tik tok on this one. Save your coin. This truly was the worst sunscreen I've ever tried

Pale girl's dream

This is, by far, the best sunscreen I have ever used. I am extremely fair, and have to usually reapply sunscreen every thirty minutes otherwise I burn HORRIBLY. I put this sunscreen on once during a three hour pool day and did not get even a whisper of a sunburn. I didn't know it was possible to enjoy the sun without a burn until I got this sunscreen. It is worth every penny. It is definitely a heavier/more oily sunscreen, but that doesn't bother me at all because it works so darn well. Get a bottle!!! You won't regret it.

Great sunscreen

I am a 50 year old female with rather dry skin. This product provides great protection and it does not irritate skin even if used the very next day after a chemical peel. I took one star off because of the greasiness. It does not cause breakouts but the face is definitely shiny after application; a little more than just a youthful glow. This sunscreen does not contain zinc oxide so it will not make your face white. There's no need to cover it up with foundation if you don't feel like wearing make up. I would definitely recommend this sunscreen to a friend with mature, sensitive skin.

Worth Every Penny

I have tested many sunscreens for my fair sensitive skin and this line in particular works beyond my expectations. I can use this on my body or face, stands up well against sweat and pool water. Also does not give me any sort of rash after hours of wear and reapplying.

Even at this price point my husband is happy to purchase since it works extremely well on both of our skin types and tone. I am Caucasian (very fair, sensitive skin) he is Hispanic (tans nicely and normal/oil skin). He also loves to use this on his shaved head since the product is a peachy tone, no whitecast.

Not Worth It

I've been trying to find a sunscreen that doesn't break me out or burn my eyes, but this did both of those things. To me, it doesn't seem worth it for the price. It comes out pretty watery, but when you put it on your face, it feels like it thickens up at least. The fact that it doesn't leave a white cast is nice, but there are so many other (cheaper) options that are coming out recently that do the same thing. I have extremely dry skin and this made it so greasy and it made my face break out in tiny red bumps all over… not just acne, but a rash as well. Even though I didn't put it near my eyes, it still burned them and made them water so bad. I'm still learning that more expensive doesn't always mean "better". It has been 3 days since I last used it and believe me, I've been cleaning my face super well (double cleansing and using light, sensitive skin friendly products), but it still feels greasy and the corners of my eyes are still raw from all the watering and burning (which was still happening even after the product was long gone from my skin). Not a great experience.

Love this one more than the sensitive skin one

I am a swim coach and swimmer, and so I spend a lot of time in the sun. I've tried the Shiseido sunscreen for sensitive skin, but that one makes a white cast and you really feel like you are wearing sunscreen. But this one does not leave a white cast, and after a few minutes, I do not feel like I am even wearing sunscreen, it literally feels like lotion, whereas the sensitive skin one was really runny, almost like white out. I usually don't like writing reviews, but after using this sunscreen, I love it so much, I had to write one, I highly recommend this particular one.

Everything but the lid.

I am in love with the non sun-screen smell of this sunscreen. It smells like lavender lemonade! It has a pinkish tint but goes on completely clear so don't worry about white cast. The sun protection is great especially for someone pale like me. I've never burned while wearing this and while properly reapplying.

The only PROBLEM IS THE LID. It HAS flipped open in a bag and partially spilled which was upsetting because of the price point. If Shiseido fixes that, I would be willing to buy it again but if not, it's too much of a risk for me. I was sent this complimentary to try but I already owned it so this is a very honest review.

Amazing sunscreen

First of all it smells amazing. Most sunscreen has a very distinct smell to it that is not very pleasant. This on the other hand smells like heaven. Secondly it holds up. I was at a water park for seven hours and I only had to reapply twice. It stayed on like a champ. I let the people I was with try it as well and the first thing they remarked was this sunscreen seemed fancy and it would really work. I have pretty fair skin and it protected me well. I will definently buy this again because a little goes a long way with this product.

This is the sunscreen I've been looking for!

I don't leave the house without a coat of sunscreen - ever. But I don't like the white cast and slick feel of most of the many sunscreens that I've tried. When I tried a sample of the Ultimate Sun Protector Lotion SPF 50, I knew I had found the perfect sunscreen for me! It goes on clear and sinks in quickly, so no more ghostly look and white smudges on everything (my handbags, the inside of my car, furniture, etc). Also, it has a faint, pleasant scent. I have already ordered one large bottle and then another one to make sure I don't run out.
