Seems to be a different body butter.
I have been a fan of The Body Shop's mango body butter for years. I loved its fragrance and creamy consistency. Unfortunately, the fragrance in the mango butter that I recently purchased was extremely faint, almost non-existent. It is also not as creamy as it used to be.
Where's the Mango
This new formula doesn't smell like mango.Has a perfume smell, very disappointed. This has been my favorite body butter for over 25 years.I don't dare order any others that I have liked. What a shame,I will miss it
One of the best!
Contrary to a lot of other reviewers, I hated the scent of the old body butter. It was far too strong and smelled of peaches rather than of mangoes. The newest release is a vast improvement! I smells much more like mango and leaves the skin super soft. I love that it has both shea and cocoa butter. The fact that it's vegan and community fair traded makes it even better. I've read some reviews stating there should be a vegan line and non-vegan line for those who liked the old formula, but that's expecting the company to only be partially ethical. I respect that they are moving in a more progressive, earth-friendly direction.
New formula is terrible
The mango body butter has been my absolute favorite since it came out. The new formula is cold and hard to spread on the skin. The consistency is greasy. The smell is a generic citrus smell and nothing like the uniquely lovely mango scent I loved. I will never buy this product again and I am so disappointed to say that. Please bring back the old formula!!!
What Happened to Mango body butter?
I have been a customer of The body Shop since they appeared in a mall here - at least 30 years go . Always tried out new scents but came back to my wonderful Mango scent. Always felt I could depend on the Mango. I read that you think you have reformulated the product and therefore changed the scents but I don't know how anyone can think this new version smells like Mango . Also, the buttery aspect of the product is gone. Feels like hard cold cream. I would have bought at least 6-8 butters since you introduced this new version. I am still trying to use up the new jar I bought last May. Is there any chance others are complaining enough to make you revise the scent and get it back to the original luscious mango smell?
All time favorite
Love this stuff. Ive been using this product off and on since the early 2000s. I do not have a sotre close to where i live and would purchase this when flying (stopping in Detroit) i finally decided to just purchase it online. And im so glad i did
Quality has gone downhill, product smells old
What happened to the quality of this product!? It lost its fragrance and smells stale or old. This used to be my favorite body butter. And not only that, but the "signature" body butter that started it all. Have you changed the ingredients or just had it on a shelf for too long? Or maybe exposed to extreme temperatures? I am not sure, but it smelled way different from what it ever did before, and not in a good way.
Changed Formula
Unfortunately I no longer buy this body butter, its way thicker then the original and its smells slightly different. I have moved to the Lemon lotion which I love. Hopefully they don't change that one.
What's happened to my body butter?
I have been using Body Shop products for about 15 years. I'm now disappointed because the scent and consistency of the products have changed and not for the better. Mango, my favorite no longer smells the same and no longer has the smooth creamy texture that I'm used to. The British Rose butter smells kinda awful now. I don't know what I'll do now because I'm not going to purchase these products anymore. Bummer!!
Old formula mango body butter was beyond a better
I was very disappointed that they changed the formula. This version is not even close to as moisturizing. Feels more waxy and also smell is not close to as good as the old one.I wish when something is so good that they wouldn't change it. I won't be buying this version again. Such a disappointment.
