The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter

Horrible smell

I was looking forward to using this body butter after hearing rave reviews that it smelled like a realistic strawberry. Considering The Body Shop is going at of business, I rushed to by this before it ran out of stock just so I could experience it. Unfortunately, it smells absolutely horrible, like old, musty wood or an old warehouse. I can tell it used to smell like strawberry because there's a faint strawberry note hiding behind the old wood smell. It's like the fragrance expired. Definitely not sad that The Body Shop is going out of business if they few products they have left at Ulta are old and expired.

Missing the old scent and formula.

One of my favorite things? Used to be, but not anymore. The old formula used to smell so yummy and had the most pleasant strawberry sweetness. My husband used to always buy this body butter for me on birthdays, Mother's Day, etc. because it really used to be the best. The last time he bought it truly became the last time because they changed the formula. We were both very disappointed. It has just a whisper of a scent, that to me smells stale and the texture is just weird. This change is unfortunate.

Reviews are true

The reviews on the Strawberry scent were correct. It does smell like chemicals. I still purchased it hoping for the best. It's not horrible smelling...just not as delicious as the other scents. Still an excellent moisturizer though!

Strawberry Body Butter

I have been a customer buying the body butter for 15+ years. I am trying to embrace the new product but I am not happy with my recent purchase. The strawberry body butter smells old and leaves my skin feeling sticky. I won't buy this again. Please bring back the old version of this loved body butter.

Smells Rancid

I've used this product in the past and to say Im disappointed is an understatement. The new formula smells rancid, The texture is awful and feels like you're rubbing wax onto your skin.

There's not even a hint of strawberry in the scent when there used to be. It is god awful.

I would not recommend this product to anybody anymore. I used to because I loved it, but now I don't believe I'll ever buy this product again or anything from this line really. You pay way too much for a product and you're not getting what's advertised. I could only tolerate using this product once.

Disappointing

I've been using this product for years. I loved the scent and formula. The new formula is awful. TBS completely screwed this one up! The strawberry scent is completely gone. My new container smells like a product that went bad.

Expired product sale ( dated 2020) - 3 years old

Expired product. From 2020. Received and opened - smells like spoiled oils.Usually buy it for my kids because it should not have chemicals - so this is a big no no . Very dissatisfied and disappointed that Body Shop keep sending expired product ( had this issue in past) with them. And been customer for years.

It is time to say good buy and never shop here again.

I don't like the smell

I accidentally grabbed the wrong one but the smell of this ticked me off, the smell is like the taste/smell of a strawberry Laffy, taffy. I lived the smell of the strawberry body yogurt and was disappointed in this one. The texture is very thick and creamy though. I just don't see me using this product.

The disgusting new vegan formula body butter.

I have been buying body butter for about 20 years and I'm very disappointed in the new formula. So disappointed that i returned it. I'll be happy to return as a customer when you go back to the original formula. It smells like wood chips. I seriously thought that someone forgot to add the fragrance. Horrible stuff!

Disappointing new smell.

I had this product for years in college and wanted to revisit it. Opened my package and was super disappointed to find that it didn't smell anywhere close to the old formula and instead smells like waxy plastic. I will absolutely be returning this.
