My saving grace!
When I tell you that I have struggled with adult acne, I mean I have STRUGGLED. Since turning 20, my skin has been going crazy with stress breakouts and hormone changes- it hadn't been horrendus though until we moved about 9 months ago. We moved to a city that had really hard water that was destroying my face and my self esteem, I saw this guy on sale online and decided "why not" and let me tell you what...It has helped with keeping my acne under control and I honestly think it has helped fade my acne scars (of course not all on it's own- in hand with the rest of my routine). My confidence has returned and I have this little guy to thank for part of that. I only gave 4 starts because the bottle is so little. I would love to see it in a larger one :) OH! For reference I have combination skin
Not great for sensitive skin
I feel like this product would be better if the formula wasn't so thick/concentrated. It's far too strong to use as is, it just sort of sits on top of my skin and does not really absorb well. The only way I can really use this and not have a huge breakout afterwards is to dilute it with a Cera-Ve moisturizer. I cannot use this consecutive days in a row without over drying my skin. I cannot use this in my skin care routine if I am going to use The Ordinary's Rose hip oil at all it pills up. I have not noticed any acne fading while using this product, very disappointing and will not be repurchasing.
LOVE!
I started using this over a year ago and I love it! I'm very oily, prone to blackheads ands on top of that sensitive. This is the perfect "light", non-greasy moisturizer. During the winter my nose tends to get a bit dry but I still suffer from breakouts and being very oily. It's like I can't win! This has changed my skin for the better by not causing breakouts. When it's not "heavy" enough I add in hyaluronic acid and it's the perfect combo.
Do not recommend
I do not recommend this product. I love all of the tea tree products and had great success with them in clearing up my skin. I decided to try this night lotion since my skin was feeling a little dry. After using it I immediately broke out into acne. I thought my skin would adjust, but weeks later I am still breaking out. Only facial product I changed was adding this to my routine, so this must be the culprit.
Keeps blemishes at bay
It works well to keep blemishes at Bay, but I can't use this every night since it dries my skin. It works well without drying my skin if I only use it every other night. However I also have sensitive skin, so if that isn't a concern for you, I would imagine nightly use would be fine.
Great for my oily skin, but slow to fade blemishes
I was really hoping this cream would fade my acne scars. After using for a month, it's not going to happen. I will say that my scars look less pronounced.
I'll keep using it because it's excellent for my oily skin. I'll keep looking for something to truly fade my acne scars though.
Love it for my skin care routine!
I have very sensitive combination skin. I used to use tea tree oil just on acne spots, so when I saw this I was interested in trying it. I was a bit worried it might be too harsh for putting all over my face, but it works great along with my other skin care items and has not cause issues!
Works well for my teen
My teen son has been struggling with blackheads and breakouts for the last year. We had tried the Cetaphil cleanser, the clinique acne gel, and clinique moisturizer but he wasn't using them regularly. His breakouts were the result of too much oil production so I wanted to try this line instead. I bought the night lotion, tea tree oil and tea tree scrub cleanser. It hasn't worked miracles. He still gets some breakouts, but his face is significantly less oily which means fewer breakouts. It also does not dry his skin out like salicylic acid tends to do.
Best for Summertime Use
This product absorbs super quickly, has a slight tea tree scent that goes away after application, and isnt oily feeling on the skin. I would recommend using this in the summertime and only if you have oily skin though because it leaves my skin feeling dry and a little tight feeling. I have oily/combination, acne-prone skin and this works well if i apply makeup directly after but if im not wearing makeup that day, my skins feels really dry.
Leaves my skin soft!
Just finished my first bottle. I was a little worried since I have super sensitive skin and I have to be careful what kind of lotion I use, but this worked really well for me. My skin is always super soft and feels hydrated after using it.
