The Body Shop Tea Tree Squeaky-Clean Scrub

Not the same great amazing product

When we first started using this product it was a game changer. Your face was left feeling like it had just gotten a true facial. There were so many of the little "scrubber beads". Now it seems that they are using MUCH less of the beads in each tube. This is now the 2nd order of 6 bottles that I've purchased and received that are lacking in the "scrubber beads" and the product and results simply are not the same. Bummer

I will buy this product as long as they make it!'

This product is great for my entire family. From my 19 year old daughter who struggles with acne, my 52 year old husband who has super oily skin, to myself. I am 50 with combination skin and hyperpigmentation. It meets all our needs.

Another heaven sent product

Product is great. My teenage son loves it. Finally found a face wash that helps with his pimples. Uses it along with the clearing clay mask and is totally happy with his face. Helps maintains his outbreaks. This product is also heaven sent. As long as the tea tree products are available I will keeping purchasing them for him.

Doesn't work

Doesn't exfoliate since the grain is not enough to scrub. My face is oily with acne. After using for a month, no difference. Still as oily and new zits still come. Many years ago, this tea tree product was great. It was effective in fighting cystic acne even just a little bit of it. Quality has gone down. Will not buy again.

Wouldn't buy again

I've tried different exfoliating face scrubs, and this one wouldn't be my top five. Been using it for about two weeks now and I still noticed dead skin on my face. A lot of the other products I have used in the past would never do this. I don't think I would waste my money buying this again. Overall smells good and leaves a good clean, but doesn't leave my face smoothed out.

Microbeads/microplastics galore

I really wanted to love this. I made the mistake of only looking more closely at the ingredients after I had used it for the first time and noticed the little beads in the scrub. And lo and behold, the fifth ingredient is "Acrylates Copolymer." A quick google search showed that this is a type of microbead, and though it can be made from natural sources such as jojoba oil, as one of the Body Shop representatives explained in the FAQ section (just search for "plastic" and you'll find it), it is indeed a type of plastic that will inevitably end up in our waterways and, eventually, oceans. (This is just like the "biodegradable" plastics made from cornstarch-- greenwashing at it's best.)

Giving this low a rating based on the Body Shop's false portrayal of this product as good-for-you-and-the-planet when, in fact, it is not. What a shame.

My favorite

Tea tree from the body shop line has been my go-to for 5 years. I started struggling with adult acne this past year after changing birth control and this has been my favorite product to keep new breakouts from forming! The cool feeling after washing/exploitation is enough to keep using it. I can't say enough good things about this scrub!!! The toner is the cherry on top to add to your skin routine.

Works well for my teen

My teen son has been struggling with blackheads and breakouts for the last year. We had tried the Cetaphil cleanser, the clinique acne gel, and clinique moisturizer but he wasn't using them regularly. His breakouts were the result of too much oil production so I wanted to try this line instead. I bought the night lotion, tea tree oil and tea tree scrub cleanser. It hasn't worked miracles. He still gets some breakouts, but his face is significantly less oily which means fewer breakouts. It also does not dry his skin out like salicylic acid tends to do.

Best facial scrub

I have been using this face scrub (a slight change in formulation) for over 20 years. I worked at The Body Shop in the late 90's and got hooked as a young adult with problem/sensitive skin. I am now almost 40 and have only strayed twice (because i ran out of tea tree) and always come back because nothing is as amazing as this little container of face scrub!

It's cool!!

I love how this product makes my skin feel calm and cool. The exfoliating beads are not as harsh as some other exfoliating products. I use This twice a week followed by a face mask because i have dry, sensitive skin. No bad reactions so far!
