very temporary

I tried this in a sample, and it definitely worked for me without unexpected side effects. My lips plumped right up. However, it does not last - which I really wouldnt expect it to, considering its a gloss and not an actual lip injection. I think this would come in handy for those mornings when your lips are cold and "shrivelled" (ie smaller than normal) to help plump them up quickly so you can go about your day. But I'm not sure I'm gonna spend the money (even on the "mini") just yet.

Definitely need to understand that the tingling sensation is quite potent. I think my eyes watered a little bit haha. It was quite uncomfortable, but it subsides after a few minutes

Great subtle, but noticeable plump

I tried the travel size to test it out. I did a skin test in the store and had no issues!

I have very thin lips, and I am unable to get fillers, due to an auto immune disease. While this is no magic wand, I really did achieve better results than I thought that I would. I love the fact that this has both immediate and long-term benefits. The picture I added shows before, and 10 minutes after, along with adding just a little bit of color on top of the lipgloss. I will definitely be buying this again while it does burn and tingle, for me, it was not intolerable by any means.

Not worth it. Money wasted.

I was really disappointed with this product. Despite the claims of maximum plump and hydration, I found that it really didn't do much for my lips at all. In fact, the plumping effect was barely noticeable, and the hydration was minimal at best. I also found that it had a somewhat unpleasant tingling sensation that was more irritating than anything else.

To make matters worse, this product is extremely overpriced for what it is. I've tried much cheaper lip plumpers that have worked better than this one, such as Sally Hansen's Lip Inflation. Not only does Sally Hansen's product work better, but it's also a fraction of the price.

Overall, I would not recommend Too Faced Lip Injection Maximum Plump Extra Strength Hydrating Lip Plumper. It's overpriced and doesn't do what it claims to do. Save your money and try a different product instead.

DISSATISFIED AND DISSAPOINTED

I enjoy Too Face products so I was very disappointed to say I actually bought this product in every color and I was so dissatisfied with this products results and it's just horrible! Don't waste your money on this product try something else. If you have sensitivity or even if you are not sensitive this product stings, burns, and irritated my lips. It was not a good feeling or pleasant experience because I've tried lip plumpers, lip injection glosses, and lip treatments before, this one can cause serious skin irritation beware.

Love this stuff!

So! I will say this: this product does in fact burn. HOWEVER, the directions literally say to stay within the perimeter of your lips. It does tingle on the lips, nothing unbearable, and was easy to apply as the applicator only allows a little bit at a time, thus making it easier to not over line. I have the cotton candy scent and am in love 😍 it smells like my old lip smackers when I was a child!

The plumping of the lips is gradual; it's not immediate and can take about 5 mins to see a decent result. It's not a miracle people, be patient! When it's done though, the lips are pillowy and plump and don't turn red like they do if you use a cheaper lip plumper.

I appreciate that a it isn't globby or hard to put on due to the paddle-shaped wand. A few minutes later I walked into the kitchen and my boyfriend said "Mmm, your lips look all red and sexy." He didn't know I had even bought it let alone used it. Yes, there is a flush on my lips that wasn't there before, and I like it. Since I only used a little it isn't irritating my lips, though I can definitely feel a tingle. Plumping? Maybe a little. Perhaps with longer term use the effects will be better.

Just an overpriced tingly lip gloss

The title says it all. After about a minute or so I could feel the tingle. I put it on right before going into the store. I'm minding my own business when my boyfriend looks over at me with a concerned look on his face. I asked him what was wrong and he tells me "your lips look funny." (He has such a way with words). I look in my camera on my phone and I agreed. They looked funny. So I go to the bathroom and wipe off the lip gloss. Even 10 minutes after wiping off, my lips were still showing a terrible reaction. Huge waste of money. But, live and learn.

Slight Natural Plump Effect/Very Moisturizing

This product is great for enhancing your lips. Some people don't like that this specific product gives a burning effect, but that is essentially the purpose of the product. This product is the most intense formula in the Too Faced Lip Injection line (hence the name "maximum plump".) Inside the package it also specifies that a tingling/burning sensation is normal for the product. I find this product does exactly what is specifies it will do. It gives a SLIGHT plump to the lips, a definite tinge of pinky red color from the initial irritating of the lips, and lasts on the lips as a moisturizer for a couple hours after applying. I use this product once in the morning and once at night before I go to sleep for the best results. I've noticed after using for two weeks, my lips have more fullness due to the increase in moisture that this product has brought to my lips. While many are hoping this product will give them dramatic, full duck lips, this product is only meant to enhance the natural fullness of your lips by bringing in hydration and irritating the lips slightly to bring more color to the lips. If you want big full lips, actual lip injections are the surest way to get that. Overall, I hope I clarified the product, as I find it does make my lips fuller naturally and hydrates very well.

What Happened???

I used to steal my sister's mini bottle of this gloss and it was the best. I had to get one myself and decided to go for the full size while there was a sale. For some fricken reason, this one barely tingles on my lip and I'm just confused. It made zero plumping difference besides being moisturizing which I really appreciated about this gloss. Maybe I received an old one or something idk it definitely doesn't feel the same as the mini one. To make sure my lips weren't just used to it, I went back and put the mini on and got the results I wanted.

I have been buying and loving Too Faced Cosmetics since the OG, Lip Injection, first came out and the brand was just starting out. I own a beauty business at my home studio that caters to all things beauty, skin and style, but lips are my primary focus. Lip filler, lip boosters, lip care,.. anything and everything. Too Faced lip products are my go-to and I keep the glam room stocked with enough product for my clients to see, learn about and sample! While I do showcase all from the Lip Injection line, the "Cotton Candy" in particular is mine all mine! I love anything cotton candy, and this is spot on to the smell and it has a nice taste to it! Of course, the plumper works like a tried and true charm, regardless, I LOVE this scent!!

I bought this product on the advice of a friend who uses it. I have had my lips done by a pro, bu. t starting to lose some volume so I thought why not? For the price, I went ahead and purchased it. It DOES WORK! BUT.. there is a slight stinging sensation that will go away after a minute or two! So as long as you are prepared for that, you will be good ! I did see fuller lips within 5 minutes. It does go on nicely and lasts on me. I use it alone with lip liner. If you have had your lips done then you know this does not hurt near as bad as lip injections can haha! Try it ! MUAH

Made my lips burn for two days. They were plump but mostly from me rubbing, licking and trying anything to get relief from the constant irritation. It went from a tingle to an almost burning sensation. I used milk, then Vaseline and finally hydrocortisone gel to get relief. I don't have sensitive skin but this made me go back and read the ingredients —capsicum frutescens Resin— same stuff that's in hot sauce. Isolated from extract from Cayenne peppers. Next time I'll just rub some jalapeños on my lips.

New packaging on the new shades is definitely cheaper

I've been using the original maximum plump for years now. I love it. I do have lip injections already but I love the extra plumping. I just saw the new shades available so I ordered the cotton candy one. It doesn't smell sweet to me at all. I don't really see any sparkle once it's applied to my lips either. Might as well be a clear gloss. But the plumping is still good. I can never decide if I like this or the buxom one better. I think buxom has a way better smell since it's minty. This smells kinda like medicine and chemicals. But doesn't bother me. I wish the shade was actually different than clear though since it looks so sparkly in the tube.

Overrated

This is probably the most popular lip plumper on the market, but it is definitely not my favorite. It definitely stings and has a plumping effect, but it gives less of a "fresh syringe of filler" look and more of a "just got my mouth stuck in a Gatorade bottle" look. If you apply this product outside of just the center of your lips it will spread to the surrounding skin of your mouth and make it look red and irritated. Sometimes, if applied sparingly and just right, it can give a nice effect, but the plumping doesn't last long enough to make this product worth the price anyway. Personally, I don't want to risk having to conceal my whole mouth area any time I accidentally apply too much of this product.

Saw this on tiktok, I'm buying it again!

I definitely feel like this makes my lips appear bigger. Also It's really not as dramatic of a burning sensation as people make it seem. It's more tingly and goes away fast while still leaving results long after. The only thing I don't like is if you get it on your skin around your lips it will make your skin red. It does state this on the instructions so listen carefully to that and don't go overboard with applying or rubbing your lips too much. It's certainly pricey but for the amount you get and how long it lasts, I would say it's worth it. I will be using some of my Ulta points to buy this again!
