Tula Mineral Magic Oil- Free Mineral Sunscreen Fluid Broad Spectrum SPF 30

I LOVE THIS STUFF but the bottle needs work

The first bottle i bought was perfect. The sunscreen is incredible and makes you look so glowy. Doesnt break me out. I didnt have an issue with the bottle leaking. I just bought a second bottle and it is just not travel friendly at all. Half of it spilled in my toiletry bag. Id love for the packaging to get fixed so its not leaky but the product itself is top notch. Only sunscreen id ever use on my face

Not purely mineral

This sunscreen has Butyloctyl Salicylate, a cousin to octisalate, and a chemical UV absorber. That's how they can get a higher SPF with such a low concentration of Zinc or TO. So it isn't purely mineral. I like it and use it, but I wish they wouldn't market it as 100% mineral when it has unregulated chemical UV absorbers in it.

Good but not great

I'm reviewing because I'm shocked to see the negative reviews. I have dry, sensitive, 40s skin with rosacea and occasionally cystic acne only during middle age (yay!). This tinted sunblock is the least *tinted* sunblock I've used. It leaves a very light, shiny, sheer, non-white cast. The shiny component disapeared within a few minutes of application, leaving a very slight glow. It was great for the wrinkles, not for the dark spots. I had to use concealer for any coverage. It's basically inert, but with sun protection. No white cast, no tint, no makeup but apparently good mineral sunblock. But it doesn't cause acne or rosacea for me! I fell asleep on it the first night; sleeping on past sunblocks makes me break out, regardless of the formulation. This one caused zero acne. Zero rosacea. Zero filling in lines; if anything it made my skin look more hydrated and glowing. I'm bummed about the lack of coverage but it's rather exemplary as a sunblock and anti-wrinkle primer. Maybe primer is the best definition. Probably keeping it because it's pretty good and not actively bad.

Soo good!

I test a lot of sunscreens and i get disappointed a lot, especially with miniral suscreens because they tend to be heavy, BUT this one is sooo good! good under makeup and easy reapplication. I took this on a vacation to Tulum and saved my face from being burnt. The only downside is that is expensive for the amount you get, going through this so fast already!

Delivery system needs redesigning

The delivery system is very, very poor. It had already leaked down the container sides before I even opened it. Messy. This is a little greasier than I personally like but the product itself is performing well against the sun. Also, the expiration date is April 2024, less than a year. That seems short to me. My first Tula product and a bit disappointing.

This is my holy grail facial SPF!

Great for sensitive skin and melasma

I love this sunscreen! I've been using it daily for over a year now. I have very sensitive, pale skin with some melasma. If you have melasma, you'll know that only mineral sunscreens (e.g., zinc or titanium oxides) are recommended as chemical ones (oxybenzone etc.) can worsen it. I have tried SO many mineral sunscreens over the years and this one is my favorite. Other ones leave a white cast, look really oily, and/or feel heavy, like just thick and yuck on the skin. This one feels so light and has no white cast. It does make your skin a bit more shiny, but not bad. Most importantly, my melasma has improved since using it and it offers great UVA/UVB protection. It has not caused me to break out and I have oily acne-prone skin. A con is the packaging, which is NOT travel-friendly, it gets all up in the lid and can leak in your bag - I still travel with mine but I put a piece of tape across the bottom of the lid (on the outside) as there is a small hole there (why?), another piece of tape to secure the lid shut and place it in a small ziploc bag. For that, I dock a star. Otherwise, the actual product is amazing.

It has sparkles in it, and I'm over 50.

The product seems to be fine, and my ultra-sensitive skin is not reacting to it, but I was not happy to see the fine shimmer on my skin from the tiny sparkles in the product. I would not have purchased it had I known.

Great product, awful packaging

Love this sunscreen, formula is light and blends perfectly. Packaging pushed me away from purchasing again, container leaks leading to wasted product and smearing product all over other packages when placed in a bag for travel.

Thin, runny and separated

I ordered two of this item as I had really enjoyed it in the past. Both bottles came in un-usable condition. The fluid was much too thin and runny and looked like it had completely separated. Loved this formula before, but unlikely to repurchase after this experience.
